No surprise I guess, always a little odd that the Ghibli came back with 4 doors after it's previous 2 incarnations, although I always thought it drove well with a very capable chassis

To be fair, most manufacturers struggle to shift anything that's not a SUV these days.

And you would have to be at your best to beet the Germans....France, England and Japan have never succeeded in the segment in Europe.

The Ghibli is a great looking car. There is a lovely blue face lift car around my way and it always cuts a dash against the other stuff on the road but they have just not been competitive with the other cars in their class so this isn’t a surprise. The reviews of the Trofeo have been superb which is great but then it’s **** of a price to pay for a Ghibli. A new one in Autotrader Is up for £126k Just stupid money…

Not sure how many Ghibli they now sell in the UK but would imagine it isn’t many new. Great looking car but missed opportunity probably.

That’s the one 126k ….Just stupid money for a Ghibli. Just think what else you could buy with that sort of money.

Although they are ending the Ghibli, they are in effect ending the Quattroporte, and reverting to a single large saloon which I am guessing will be closer in size to the Ghibli. The Quattroporte was made longer to appease Chinese and US markets who seem to like massively long cars.

That looks fab in that colour, you lot are so dull!

I agree it does look good… Much better than blacks ones that are for sale. I would also say looking at the eye watering price that paint was an expensive option.

It looks cool in the flesh, I ogled it at HR Owen last week, but not that cool that I could be tempted at even half the price. I’d love a QP Trofeo one day but it has to be in Verde (Green)

100% agree Dicky. Would anyone really spend that amount of money on it. I bet there will be a discount though. Like you a QP version would be better. The price of the Ghibli feels more like QP money.

I suppose finding one though would be the challenge. Wonder how many they have sold in the UK?

It's very rare that large cars are developed these days, whilst Merc and BMW make their S-Class and 7 series, I can imagine these being dropped into a LWB E-class and 5 series for those that want them. Or dropped altogether for an SUV.
