100% agree Dicky. Would anyone really spend that amount of money on it. I bet there will be a discount though. Like you a QP version would be better. The price of the Ghibli feels more like QP money.

I suppose finding one though would be the challenge. Wonder how many they have sold in the UK?
Not seen one anywhere so I’d say very few indeed. Not driven a Ghibli with the 3.8 in it, but I’ve driven about 7 or 8 Ghiblis and around the same QPVI’s and I find the QP drives miles better.

Although they are ending the Ghibli, they are in effect ending the Quattroporte, and reverting to a single large saloon which I am guessing will be closer in size to the Ghibli. The Quattroporte was made longer to appease Chinese and US markets who seem to like massively long cars.
Hoorah for that. The QP V was the perfect size and proportions for a 4 door. It still comfortably sits rear and front passengers in mine and doesn’t look too big or too small.

The reviews of the 3.8 Ghibli have all been very good in an old school sort of way. Can’t say I have ever seen the QP version anywhere for sale so I would imagine that they may not even be in double figure in the UK. One thing for sure if you can find one that will be one very rare Maserati you have.

No but there’s plenty of 3.8 QP’s about so they’re almost as good.

I read a few years back that both saloons would be merged into one. My guess, it will be a four door coupe to compete against the Taycan, E Tron GT, and even the new Lotus saloon due to be shown next year. Pricing I bet will start at around £100,000 and with options at least what the current Ghibli Trofeo as mentioned costs...
Well out of my budget!

Always made sense to get rid of the Ghibli name for a four door. It should have been the QP and QP Royale for the LWB one.

Couldn’t fault my Ghibli S, apart from the steering rack.

Tried to get into a Trofeo last year and got close but in the end opted for the F car. Just couldn’t get past the depreciation. That was at substantially less than the one above. Even my man maths couldn’t convince me.

It will be interesting to see the next QP but only with the Nettuno engine in it. I’ve no interest until the hybrid or Folgore versions. I suspect my next Maserati will be an older one though.

Came to Cornwall in QP6 and for the family, they enjoyed the luxurious leg room and comfort, as for me, well I enjoyed the main roads ;).

Unfortunatley not using my baby on the small roads, shocking etiquette around here and no intention of scratching the paint work.
