Getting X piped

Im going to change my X pipe for an H pipe and do a secondary cat delete before Le Mans. This coupled with the straight through rears boxes i have will mean ill basically have no exhaust ;P :firing3:

I went for the H pipe over the X for more of a growl. I think it's done the trick! :D

Just being with you is exhausting enough!

Josh has just done a H pipe for a Spyder. A Couple of hundred notes fitted is not too bad at all.

I've just switched to having H-pipe with OEM rears and it still sounds great (although nowhere near as loud as when the Larini rears were on).

Ben was rightly badgering me to experiment with an H. He reckons his is more raucous than the X. Jeff at FD reckons X is louder.

To avoid any embarrassing mistakes, such as making my car quieter, I might get myself down to an exhaust shop to see if they can fashion me something remarkably similar to Larini 200 cell sports cats for a fraction of the price. May need to get my valves fixed if I take that dark path. They've been set to permanently open since last summer.

With Spartacus having noise envy about my 4200 I've just taken some pics of under my car.

There doesn't seem to be any secondary cats. Although, I guess it will be easier if I got the car up on the jack.

Yes there are . They are in the first and third pictures . Big round cans to the right of the picture in front of the H pipe .it also looks like you have original squish pipes. So the question is what rear boxes do you have ?

Definitely looks like 2 sets of cats on your car, Mark. Who was the previous owner? Captain Nemo??!

Job for the weekend. I'll have to jack it up and have a look.

LOL! Bit of surface rust. I'll get the wire brush out and a bit of Hammerite. Jobs a good 'un!

Mine will need doing at some point. I'd like to take it off the road and get everything off from underneath - suspension, subframes etc and have them all blasted and powder coated, then clean up the underside of the car and coat it in fresh stone chip to make it last a few more years. Problem is that I love driving it and also don't have a garage to keep it whilst the work is being done as mine is only a single and full of 'stuff'.

Can't you just lift it? I thought you were Geoff Capes?!

I can, but I need both hand when doing the Hammerite. One to hold the pot, one to paint it on. ;)

So with that in mind, I might as well jack it up and put it on axle stands.
