Gearbox rear bracket

Hi!
Some time since I was here.
Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago I had the 4200 out on the annual chasing-modern-Ferraris track day. Fun as always. By the end of the day I noticed some clunky sound coming from the rear when getting off load. My car has a manual gearbox.

Having a look underneath today I suspect the rear gearbox/differential rubber bracket. It feels very soft, see link to short movie:

Should it be that soft or it’s the probable cause for the clunks?

Think it’s fluid filled like shock so its soft in that area.

Any sign of a leak? Mine is leaking and needs replaced; brace yourself, it is a stupid price.

I had to replace mine on my GS. It was a lot worse then the one in your video. As the mount deteriorates internally the fluid ends up in the lower chamber.
As for the price, I didn't want to pay that much and wondered if there was an alternative. After looking at lots of pictures online, I thought an option could be 225839 which is a QP engine mount.
I bought one and discovered that the mount itself is exactly the same and with the same part numbers on the rubber part of the two mounts.
The difference is there are no captive nuts on the mount so you will need to use bolts and nuts. The other difference is in the attached plate. The plates are lightly riveted to the aluminium part of the mount and can be removed and swapped by drilling the riveted part. Saved a heap of money.

How do you add this to the alternative parts thread?

Love it. Does the same work for the engine mounts?

GT/QP still at factory, 4200 no stock.

Looks like 4200 engine mount 185361, is NLA and Eurospares list 225839 as an alternative.
The mounts have multiple part numbers on the rubber section, with a colour associated with the part number.
The only variations that I can see are the attached plate and the use of captive nuts or open holes.
My theory is that a dab of paint colour is applied to the mount to identify which part number it is and therefore which application.

Thanks allot for the replies above.
Yes I saw the price tag, so that’s why I wanted to double check with this forum before just buying and trying. The advice on QP part is an alternative I will definitely check. Excellent. Having to put nuts on shouldn’t be a problem. As I recall there is plenty of space to reach with spanner.
