hi friends i'm doing some work near my maserati qp 2005 duoselect, looking at the cylinder heads from below i realize that the rear leaks oil from the tappet cover gasket and removing a spark plug i found ilio accumulated there too.Now in various sites i found some kits to overhaul the tappet cover but I don't know which one to choose since I don't know which kit is complete to carry out this work according to the rules of art, then since I have to do this work you can tell me if there are any improvements or defect recall to be carried out in those parts .Thanks

I think, but I am not sure, that all of the rocker cover gaskets are the same for all F136 engines. You might be able to get a better price for the F430 versions. You will need the gasket for around the edge of the cover, plus seals for the spark plug holes.

quindi solo questo? Devo sostituire qualcos'altro quando apro il coperchio del bilanciere?

A meno che non trovi delle parti rotte, le guarnizioni risolveranno il problema.

i was looking at the gasket replacement kit but i found 2 variants and with code
Supplied also in the cover gasket revision kit (cod. 980020000) and 980020007) I don't understand which differences and I don't know which one to choose. Advice?

980020007 appears to be the gasket kit for the heads covers and the seals for the spark plug holes for the QP

980020000 appears to be the above for the 4200's

Bit of thread resurrection but I was having a mooch round the ZX Forum (Kawasaki/Kwikasfuki not Citroen) and found details of a recall on engines with cam cover leaks.

Basically Kawasaki issued a Factory Authorised Repair for ZX6-R bikes with oil seepage from their cam covers. You took your Ninja into the dealer and they swapped out the cam cover gasket, fitted a new one and recharged it back to Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

Kawasaki probably made as many ZX6-Rs in that year as Maserati with GT, QP and Ferrari with 458 etc but the attitude between the Italians and the Japanese are completely different. The italians would shrug their shoulders and mutter that they all do that but no doubt some poor sod in Kobe had to commit Hari-Kari as no other Kawasaki leaks oil.
