Went to see a 4200 spyder cambiocorsa today and had one good look over it....here we go things wrong with it:-

Been stood for 8 months.....well18 to be precise, someone took it for a spin in the 10 months, but cr4pped themselves, so parked up and left outside !

Bodywork
1. Boot has a slight bow in it where it aligns with the folding roof
2. N/s door not aligned properly
3. N/s front wing has slight bubbling where someone has done a "**** job" filling a dint.
4. Front bumper not quite aligned properly
5. Underneath....clean and tidy ish, could do with some tlc.
6. Roof is ok, no leeks whatsoever
apart from that a good buffing and all is well.

Wheels
1. All good rims....me being picky I'd re-furb.....but not necessary
2. Tyres straight in bin....2 are new but flat and no way will I use them
3. Disks are ok, but I'd put a new set on.
4. Pads - shoes straight in bin

Cockpit
1. Steering wheel needs to go in bin....
2. Needs one **** of a valet
3. Seats need leatherwork sorting
4. Drivers seat electrics not working
5. Micro sensor gone on the roof, opens so far and stops....manual close, easy fix.
basically it's all there...two days tlc and it will look mint.

Dash
Flat battery didn't help !
1. Engine management light on....and it flashes
No comment as yet.....still thinking it over.
2. Start up.....oil pressure light on....then settles to 2.5bar after 2 mins, given stood for so long not bad.
nothing else to report.

Engine
1. Few catches broken
2. In need of a good service
3. Sounds ok after warm up, oil circulating !
So all ok there

Spec:
Non recorded, I know it's had a front knock, as new bumper ! dealer confirmed this aswell.
32k on clock
Service history checks out
Blue Mediteranneo
blue leather interior
heated seats
all usual standard equipment.
Don't say you would walk away......I didn't.

So my question is guess the price?

Two tents the square root of f*ck all. Too much to do so if anything over 6-7k if keeping it or 4-5k if selling on I personally wouldn't bother. ECL and oil pressure issues could be expensive to fix.

Too much hassle unless you can do a fair bit of the work itself....still needs a full indie inspection though.......rule of thumb buy the best you can or do the work yourself!!!!!

However much you do it will still have a blue interior. IMO, tan or, at a push, black would be better.

£9k or run!

It sounds a proper dog and my biggest concern is the low oil pressure. I recon it could be another knackered oil/waterpump....engine rebuild, cheque please!

Offered the guy 6 bags of sand.......he's thinking about it !
Was going to offer 8 but spoke to couple of guys @ dealers, who gave me run down on car !
Something I could sort out.......well most things, as you say Matt oil/water is the question.....cheque no way, strip her bare before that would happen.

Would have said 5 bags so came close.....

Its a bargain at 6, it needs about 5k to put right if your doing a lot of work yourself so not bad at 11k

You're very brave, even at £6k. Sounds like a very poorly cared for car which could be hiding all sorts of faults. The most costly thing is the engine, but £3k buys you a replacement if yours is beyond repair. Bodywork plus other parts all add up and you're still left with a very early car with missing services and a blue interior. Cheap cars are cheap for a reason.

"hey come back I'm sure we could do a deal"
"Nope.......Bye....."
The "Thing should have been a CAT B" had a really good look over it..........It was a pile of Sh1t !!!
If this ever comes on the market I'll sure let everyone know about it !!!!

This is really hard to value as it all depends on how much it costs to get right as good ones are worth 15kish......Not so good ones 12kish......................If you get an inspection and it costs around 4k/5k to put right then your 6k bid was the right thing to do...Look forward to seeing this one play out.

When a car is this abused on the surface it's only a part of the story of what lurks beneath.

This forum always advises an independant inspection, period.

The car in question goes against this so it's the correct desision to walk away.

Nah Andy.....
It was one of them......What seems to be too good, oftern there is something wrong !
It took an hour of proper looking and call to Martin @ Stratstone.....it's what he told me that made my mind up.
The vehicle was involved in an accident. has not been recorded, as he was p155ed !!!! They have it as beyond ecconomic repair. The guy has had the work done on the cheap and it shows!
As I said, if it ever comes on the market I'll give everyone the heads up as to it's history.
