A little biy of piping just brings the interior out...Other wise for me a bit dowdy for me....Thats lovely.

I love Black on Black, but for some reason the yellow piping doesn't get me going. Better than electric blue though!

Its great that we all like different things. Black on black for me is just so boring as is silver on black but then loads of you won't like my red on black with red piping, red quilted stitching and red carpets (red calipers too but black alcantara head lining).

Surely though if a car is the right colour and the service history (none are perfect as a stamp tells you little) and mileage are ok then that is the car for you? Paint, dings and wheels can be fixed if it matters that much.

Completely agree. I'd take a car in the right colour that needed wheels refurbed or even a service, but wouldtn take a minter in the wrong colour. Some things are easy enough to put right.

I always found dings hard to colour in with my Nettuno Blue 3200. I imagine life is a lot easier with black, silver or (pearlescent) white. Alloys are easy to refurb. Or why not ask Maserati UK for a new set when the alloys go off - I did and, bingo, a new set of ball polished rims in the post. :)

I bought Dicky Grace's old GS a few weeks ago after a long line of Porsches.

I too was looking for a while (couple of months or so) and looked at a few which seemed to almost fit the bill on paper. My ideal spec didn't turn up so I thought I would take the plunge. Mine is silver with black leather / techo cloth - not perceived to be the best combo within the Maserati community. But you know what, I think the techo cloth is alright (having the same leather colour throughout the interior seems a bit too much somehow) and it certainly isn't as shinny it looks in the pictures.

My point is this. I could have spent the next 6 months looking and still not found my ideal car but having spent the best part of 400 miles in the car last week I am glad I took the plunge as these are great cars. So I would say if you find a good one which drives well and isn't too far away from the spec you want then go for it! I bet that as soon as you get behind the wheel, you won't care as much about the spec as you'll be too busy enjoying the drive.

Andy

I don't normally like black on black but that looks great with the yellow piping and brake calipers.

I am quite sold on black now with the grey wheels which i think is now a must have (andy will be happy with that decision :D) and yellow piping and calipers. Personally apart from Yellow Blu Anniversary is my fave colour, the best for sale has to be the one at Stratstone Ferrari/Maserati but it is pricey at 40k.

What is the old saying..............write down the 10 things you want and if you find something with the 1st 3 or 4 then buy it.

I was determined to get a black on cream facelift GT. When an immaculate one turned up but without reversing sensors or xenons (which I would like) I just bought it anyway. This was June last year; I would still be waiting if I had passed it by. For me the colour combo was the dealbreaker, everything else was negotiable.

Better to have memories than dreams.........

Also what you have to remember when buying a used car is that you are extremely lucky to find a car with all the options on it you wish for.

Si Grigio touring is a hard colour to get a real deep shine on, best to give it a real good wash , followed by a good clay bar session , and then a couple of real good coats of high strength canuba wax , first coat possibly machine polished followed by a gently hand polish should see it absolutely gleaming , this is how i treat both of mine , both grigio and it seems to last a good 3 -6 months

i took 1 year to find my car, i wanted a black assetto corsa and as the interior is the same on all of them it was easy to pick it, saying that i took a long time as they rare and i wanted an auto after looking at the problems manuals had, after talking to loz on the old forum i had an idea of service history and hat to look out for, so i set off wanting a black ac auto with full history, i found it, i bought it, a few niggles later no regrets!!
take your time as i will again if i buy a gs it must be LE black, interior black with yellow piping or beige, low miler full history must have xenons an parking sensors, see easy!!

Well done on your purchase....Lovely car...Yes you are right Tech cloth is unloved but with the silver body, black leather you have the best car for the Tech cloth.......Dickys car was a great buy.
