While disappointing I will say their communication has been excellent and had a email last night offering a full refund or transfer to 2024. Very quick and efficient.

A bit of a bummer especially for those that travelled to attend, there was one guy came in from Japan and Goodwood was the main reason for his trip. No ticket moves to Sunday means no chance of replanning.

Must admit I'm with Chris insurance co pains are forcing us to be so risk averse soon nothing will get done.

Problem is, it's not just insurance companies. It's just people who seem to be totally unable to sensibly judge risk at all any more. I mean that video didn't actually show anything other than a windy day. No way was that small post going to get picked up and hurled through the window of a Miura. Nor was the wall that's been there for, I suspect, several hundred years going to suddenly topple over.

I recall a few years back that we did lose all our fences, but this seems to have been (another) storm in a teacup, if you'll pardon the pun ;)

Our local one was cancelled by the council the night before, the organisers , and stall holders, just went ahead anyway. I was expecting it to be raided, but all went well. No idea what repercussions there may be lol.

This is the other side of things. This was Ludlow’s Christmas Fayre 2 years ago. They also cancelled so no one was there.

I was there all day Friday with my clients. It did rain a lot but there was plenty of gaps in the rain to have a good day out on the company dime!

It was very windy on Saturday, pilots were having to earn their coin and change underpants landing at Gatwick.

It's not so much the high winds but the associated gusts that cause the damage. A sudden increase in wind speed puts a lot of pressure on the structures and when you have million pound motors in tents that are only designed to keep them dry, no wonder insurance companies said no.
