Well I have tried David Mcfie the Chromer enquiries@classicsandchrome.co.uk (01455 637921) who apparently has the forum wheel bolts by phone and email once/twice a week for more than a month now I cannot get him to reply to me. Does anyone have any other ideas on who to try. Problem is I don't have a spare set so car would have to be off the road while my set was being done.

Phil, I will email him later....he does eventually respond

Think he spends far too much time talking to techies...or forces, they're big on economy of letters....

With the passing of every day I get left further and further behind.
TBHIDTIECU.........(for those that are not up with the lingo that means "To be honest I don't think I'll ever catch up")
Anyway there was a whole thread that I read which called into question the tensile strength of these stainless steel bolts so preferred to get a set chromed.

I reckon they would be fine but don't use them myself although it would save me a fortune. The question isn't whether or not they're strong enough, it's whether or not they've been tested and are certified as strong enough for public liability purposes on my part. Anyone who's putting them on their own car, I'd be happy to put them on my own personal car.

If they are made out of such as 316SS, or 316 Ti even, the tensile strength is around 500MPa, or more. I don't know what these offered are made of, it might be worth checking. If they are 316 they should be more than adequate.
Phil,
Now you are at it with the letters that don't make sense to anybody.....HELP...!!!

Sorry, yes. Back in the day, brevity was important. Apart from anything else, bandwidth was very limited. Hence Unix commands being so short :)

I'll try to be better :)

Just PM Sprogs. It might take him a few days to pick up the message, but he'll come back to you about the SS he uses, or alternatively if you search the forum there's a thread somewhere where he goes into some detail on the type and the reason he chose it. I've had my OEM bolts re-chromed by C & C in the past, they lasted a year, and then went with a set from Sprogs made to fit 15mm spacers. They've been absolutely fine, even after a hammering around Bruntingthorpe.

On this thread

Sprogs gives the spec as follows:

tensile strength of the steel we only use is far stronger than the original bolts , check out custom 630 s/steel or as its more commonly known 17-4ph on the web. Its the carlsberg of the stainless world !! :)

I'm a Peroni man myself, but I'll go with it this time.
