Protests are being lodged by Mercedes...

What a surprise.

So, our on the track winner is Max Verstappen. Off track winners...the lawyers.

Loads of decisions have gone Hamiltons way this season, and against Verstappen for the same infringement, how did Hamilton not gain an advantage on lap 1? Fair result I say.

Fundamental point is MV forced LH off the track and he had to avoid a collision by what in Max's world is a clean pass

Yeah, it's not like Hamilton could not back out of it is it? LMFAO! Get real.
I don’t like either of them but Max’s move was so late he could only make the corner by running right out to the edge of the track. For Hamilton to ‘back out’ of it and also not go off the track, he would have literally had to stop dead. Max ran him off the track basically, which is what all of his recent ‘passes’ have been. If that’s the new way of overtaking the fine, everyone will start doing it.

All down to one lap and Max made a superb move on Lewis which was worthy of a World Champion.

Nice to hear Lewis rise above Toto’s frustrations and say congratulations and shake hands with Horner.

But the FIA and F1, what an absolute cluster ****! The worst possible end to the season was one where the outcome could be challenged and they went off the reservation and all the way to Kuwait. By not following the regulations they’ve set this up for a lawyer fest. Todt is going soon and Massi needs to go with him.94301

My thoughts too. All you Do from now on is send it up the inside, and if you’re being overtaken on the outside, just run it out to the edge of the track.

And? He could have backed out and at least make an attempt at the corner, he decided not to do that. Im assuming these F1 cars have brakes as well?

That's what racers have always done, that's why they try and go up the inside into bends. Even if the next bend is the other way, going round the outside is fraught with danger on the exit.

Yep not a surprise.

BREAKING: Mercedes have protested "against the classification established at the end of the Competition", relating to alleged breaches of Articles 48.8 and 48.12 of the FIA Sporting Regulations

When a race director gets influenced by the teams things are bound to go wrong, the right decision was to follow protocol even if it meant finishing under a safety car, instead an initial decision to allow 1 last lap of racing by not allowing back markers to pass which he overturned a few laps later after pressure from one of the teams but then not to implement it fully and only let those between the 2 leaders to pass and then quickly ending the safety car which led to only one result.

Massi needs to go 3 poor decisions in the last safety car period changed the result of the race and the championship, these are on top of the many other inconsistencies he has made this year, and will no doubt now be decided in a court. A really sad end to what has been a great season with two great drivers racing to the very end.

The late decision to let the unlapped cars through was an unknown to both teams. Merc had it all to lose and chose to stick. RB had nothing to lose so pitted.
From what I've seen Masi said the lapped cars couldn't pass when the track wasn't clear then let them pass when it was.
The controversy seems to be not all lapped cars unlapped themselves
