You have no idea what spec the cars are running to therefore not representative. I mean it could be Russell had more fuel and worse tyres than anyone else so his showing was slower than race pace or equally it could be the other way round.
I meant I have a 100/1 wager on the lad, I was just getting my hopes up!

Well, that was a good quali for the first time in ages. I think Russell may well have done enough to get the Merc seat after next season, although a podium in the race will really cement that. I expect Hamilton will do another season and if he wins, and breaks the record, he may well retire. Bottas needs to run him really close next season.

In 2022 the rules change quite dramatically so the Merc may not come out the box as the best car on the grid. Hamilton would need to want to stick around an maybe spend a couple of seasons not winning which I’m not sure he would want to do.

If only RB hadn’t messed up Albon’s quali for him and Lando hadn’t messed up his own. It would be good to see them both up at the front with Russell and LeClerc.

Russel did a fantastic job considering he just jumped in the car. Do you think this was also a ploy by Mercedees as they are negotiating with Lewis still from what they said yesterday.

It’s great Perez has got a win.

And to the all the Hamilton doubters. You make your own luck and look what happened when he wasn’t there.

I wouldn’t put it past the Jarmins to have done that deliberately in order to protect Hamilton. They’ve already won the constructors and drivers Championships so it doesn’t really matter what happens in this or the next race and it removes the question as to why are they paying Hamilton so much money when George Russell can do the same for much, much less. You can bet your ar5e that cock-ups like that won’t happen to Hamilton if he comes back for the last race.

So, you‘re saying that wouldn’t have happened if Hamilton was there. As it happens I agree with you, I think the Mercedes hierarchy was looking after Mr Chip.
