I'm selling my brand new, latest design Fabspeed secondary cat bypass pipes.

These are for sale because they did not fit my GS because I have the "euro spec" design, with 4 cats on this pipe instead of 2 like the US design, some UK design and OZ design which have 2 on this pipe and 2 in the headers.

It fits the Coupe, Spyder and GS. There are 2 bungs for the cars with the EGT sensor, they just need to be drilled if you need to use it.

My loss is your gain, PM me for details.

I am shipping express and worldwide, it will take about 5 days to your door wherever you are.

First come first serve basis.

Guessing they will fit the early 4200 that a few feel are no good. Wonder how much more I could get out of my old girl power wise that is ? Phil.

They look quite nice..!! Guess you will have to check if you Euro, or USA spec front end..??

Hey Phil,

They got a dyno sheet using these. Here it is:

It is a 13 whp peak hp gain (about 15 crank) and 11 lb.ft of torque, so it is quite significant. There is also a huge midrange improvement in torque and non negligible in power.
Going decat, you really feel the car pulls much more past 4500 rpm. The throttle response will also be significantly improved. And the sounds :)

It's, it's easy. If your primary cat is after the headers, they don't work. If you have only the secondary cats in the pipe after the headers, they work :)
You can look in the thread I wrote about my custom job. They are pictured next to the Euro spec pipes (so that's when it doesn't work).

I would say its very unlikely you have the US headers on an early UK 4200, and for the better too.
The US headers seem to appear on the later 4200/GS sold in the UK, and then it appears a bit hit or miss.

It's an easy check, just looking under the car you can tell if you have 1 pair or 2 pairs of catalytic converters in that part of the exhaust. You could tell as well by where your O2 sensors are. I guess looking under the hood, you could probably tell if you have cats down the headers or not.

In my case I knew I had euro spec but thought (and I was wrong) I could cut and weld it, but the pipes are really too different.

Call me old fashioned but I like the before graph better! More power more of the time, less peaky. I must be getting lazy! :)

I think you'll find one (higher one on the left) is torque and the other is bhp. The red lines are the before and the blue line is the after. It shows an increase in power and torque all the way through which has to be a good thing!

Why would the revs be starting higher and peaking lower?

Because the guy floored it later and let it go earlier, for example.
In both cases he did not wait until the rev limiter to kick in and there is absolutely no point to do so because the peak power is not at the redline. If it was a turbo engine, I would say otherwise, but it is not :)

Oh that's reasonable, I'd have thought they would take it to the limiter each time.

It depends.

My other car for instance is turbocharged at a constant pressure that it holds until redline, so it makes peak power at the redline. In that case, increasing the redline, even 500 rpm will yield great gains and you would push it to the stock redline at least (and beyond if it has been increased). You can't increase the redline indefinitely though, because then your valves would float and you don't want that.

In that case, they want to demonstrate that it makes more torque and power on the complete power band. Usually, you start the pulls at low revs, around 2000. But it doesn't really matter if you are not spot on because you care about the big picture. Although it's important on a turbo car because you have the turbo spool to take into account but they will spool late 3000 to high depending on the size, so anything under that is fine too. So not relevant here anyway.

On our car, the power starts dropping after 7000, so lifting off anytime after that is fine since you already have your peak numbers. The only interest of holding it would be to confirm that both torque and power are still way over stock after 7000 rpm but looking at the curve you already know that.

I hope the explanation is clear, dyno charts are not easy to read and to understand at first if you are not used to it.

So you are getting about 360 BHP at the top end, is that right..??

366 whp (wheel horse power) at about 6800rpm, it's the max and you have the numeric value in the legend. That's worth 420 to 430bhp depending on the drivetrain loss you take into account. I used 15% for 430, which is the "standard", so the gains are really not bad.

Come on they are getting dusty. At least it is good, seeing these pieces of art everyday in the living makes up the fact I could not fit them on my car :)
