I've set up an SM league... remember it's purely for fun and is free.

The league code is 4zectb.

You should find the Rusholme Ruffians in there.

And any newbies, please ask away...it's simple to choose your squad but does require tending to for half an hour each week to maintain.

The ladies did well last night, possibly the cheekiest of goals I've ever seen in professional football but the Swedish goalie was rubbish.

Germany V France in the semi tonight to meet England in the final. It looks ominous...

A back heel whilst running is very hard to do.
Every time I've tried it, I've ended up flat on my face.

Really looking forward to Sunday.
Just hope it's not the bloody Germans again !

And what a game, if only the mens game was as interesting to watch both the players and the fans

I thought as a game it was poor. But it seems you're not allowed to criticise women's football any more.

However, just for balance, when was the last mens final you saw which was any good?
In a final it's not about the game, it's about the result.

England first goal was quality, as was Germanys. The winner you see down the park every Sunday morning.

I cannot stand the media fawning over the event and I did not watch it (am I the only one?).
I did see some of the fawning as it cannot be avoided and they openly stated they were role models.
Well, if a poorly spoken, loud, tatooed, cliche driven rivet catching navvy at the dockside is a role model then heaven help us.

Better be off now :drunk:

I saw the shirt off goal celebration; goodness that sports bra was working hard! I understand the lass has been fined for it but what the heck, a once in a lifetime opportunity who wouldn't have done it? Never thought I'd get any pleasure from watching wendyball!

She got fined as players used to take their tops off for displaying messages or political statements. Rather than listing what you can and can't say (the list would be endless) they banned taking tops off for celebrations.

Rules is rules.

She got fined (and how much was the fine?) or she was booked?

Just as well the England men's team haven't won anything since '66 then, you would hate the media coverage about that.

Enjoyable game, great performance, well done Lionesses.

I thought Lineker’s Tweet was funny:

“The @Lionesses have only gone and done it, and Kelly is England’s heroine, bra none.”

Shame he felt he had to delete it, nothing sexist IMO and I’m usually quite on it.
