I've been on the road over the past week, visiting in-laws in Germany and sampling Belgian beers on the way back.

But the trip started at Netherlands with a visit to @A.S. Motorsport who fitted a set of his coilover solution. That was a well deserved investment as my suspension was now 18yrs old and had seen better days.

It's fair to say that along with 20in wheels and new rubber fitted prior to the trip it has transformed the car. Ive had the car since 2017 and ever felt more planted w/o compromise of ride quality.

Economy was also not too bad over the course of the week. When covering ground on highway the car makes a lot of sense.

Fantastic sounding trip and a good few miles to get acquainted with the new set up on the way home, roll on the next one no doubt

Coilovers and 20" wheels without compromising the ride is a result, unusual but can be done if setup correctly

@MarkMas will be along shortly as he dislikes his skyhook ride from memory.

I think you're underestimating Mark's repertoire of dislikes if you limit him only to Skyhook. He can do so, so much more than that.

Looks great and sounds like a new car with the changes. Such a great looking car still after alll these years….When you said MPG not bad I didn’t expect to see 21...I think aim would cry getting that on a long journey. I have heard that 25 to 28 is possible with a light right foot on a long motorway journey. Sounds like you are having fun though.

Regarding consumption I don't think my car would do 24+ in any mixed driving conditions. Top I've seen is 23/24 when driven on sections of 60mph on cruise control. And of course when in Germany you help your self a bit on derestricted sections ;)

I'd be surprised. I certainly never got anywhere near that in my GT

33 on the run to Leeds today, though

These cars are made to travel quickly and comfortable across continents. Only if you have deep pockets then as fuel must cost an absolute fortune these days.

I see around 27 on a continental motorway cruise at 70 and a bit mph dropping to 22-23 in mixed driving overall for trip of say 1500-2000 miles. Spirited driving drops it to mid teens however but that’s rare I’m embarrassed to say!

145 I think I paid. I mean these trips are business, so I get a chunk of it back. TBH the Jaaaaaag was only getting 40 and diesel is about 167 ATM. So my man maths was spot on ;)

My C250 CDI does are 56 and 60 mpg gallon on my work journey. My best when it was a summers day and I did a bit of driving Miss Daisy to work was 72 mpg. I was very proud that day. How things change as when so had the 3200 and was giving it some I was proud to see 6 mpg one day.
