Will post when I pick it up!
Waiting for confirmation re: service and steering wheel exchange, then will go to collect.
Do you think Marios is the best bet to fix your x-pipe? I can get that done when I go to visit the in-laws.
Thanks for your advice and support during the purchase - really looking forward to getting it.

You're welcome Iain, it's a pleasure

And yes, you should certainly use Marios to fit it. He fabricated the X-Pipe in the first place so if there is any fettling to do when fitting it to your car, he will be the best man to do this. But please call him with details of your car before I send it up to him, just to make 100% sure that the pipe is suitable for your car. I'm sure it will be, but just to be safe.
Keep me posted & good luck

I finally have picked it up.
Face lift steering wheel fitted as promised and an amazing drive home. Couldn't help stroking the huge carbon paddles and downshifting a little too much.
I can't believe how good it sounds. Huge amounts of added sounds on the downshifts. I can't imagine the X pipe making it sound much better but would be overjoyed if it does.
I need to clear the garage out though as I don't fancy leaving it outdoors for too many days.
I forgot to ask for a trickle charger - do you guys think this is a must have?

If you're not using it regularly (say at least every two weeks for a decent drive), IMO yes. And tbh, for the cost of them it's not worth not doing - the electronics on these cars are very sensitive to low power....

Great to hear Iain & that X Pipe is going to make you smile even more. I'm glad you have got your car pre pipe so that you can hear the difference.
Remember to post some pictures and enjoy, they're a great car.

There's a thread on Maseratil Life that details the process. Fiddly but eminently doable at home

Could you possibly send me the link Mr C - would be v much appreciated.

Is there any risk involved? I am not so mechanically minded. I can spend hours cutting up a human body and putting it bad together but I get stressed with metal things and electrics :1389:

Iain, you got them to put a facelift wheel on but now want a Strad one with carbon? Will you want to sell the facelift one? Pics?

Hi Phil:

As one of a few touches I wanted to trim the Facelift one with alcantara to Match the Interior, and put a red strip at 12 O clock to go with the Sportline feel.

I can't find anyone who can put carbon on steering wheels yet... The Strad one is too much at 2000+ and not significantly different to the facelift one.

I am not 100% sure but i think around 1100-1200. There was one without an airbag on ebay recently for around the 500 mark
For me its a no brainer - massively updates the interior IMHO. I don't like the pre facelift wheel.
These are chunkier and slightly flattened at the bottom.
