The carbon fibre one does look special. Custom colour options available too. You know you want one :)

Oh yes. That's absolutely clear! I *want* one.

Thing is I *need* a new key, and some parking sensors before something expensive happens. And we still need to sort out some electrical niggles. Dealer is being really good. Realised he'd made a mistake with the warranty and has increased it FOC.

I made an adjustment today. The car has behaved almost perfectly. If what I did fixed it, I'm not sure I want to live in this world!

I'm not going to say what it was until I've done quite a lot of miles, though.

Fingers crossed for your fix then - I won't say any more as I wouldn't want to jinx anything for you

I would love a 1/2 wood steering wheel to match the wood in my QP, is there any reason why people don't ask for them as I understand it is an option.

Here you go. But remember you have duty and vat to pay on top of the purchase price. Duty is around 5% iirc of the purchase price including shipping. Then you have vat at 20% on the purchase price including duty and shipping.

Thanks mate. Thats the type I am looking for. I had communicated with DCTMS - they do some cool stuff. As you say there are additional charges and they have a 6 week turnover and core exchange.. I am too inpatient for that :(
I was hoping somewhere in the UK would do the same..why don't they?!

Could I fit a new chubbier style facelift steering wheel to my 2009 car? Is it a straight swap ?

You can - as I have seen an 09 with a facelift wheel in the same place I am buying mine from potentially. It updates the interior.
MDs will ask for your chassis number and say they aren't compatible however (in my experience).

No airbag in that one mate :( Are they compatible...

You don't usually get the airbag with the steering wheel at they are worth £275 roughly for a GS or 4200. Mine was a straight swap over for the airbag between the 4200 wheel and the GS wheel i replaced it with. I'm sure somebody with a GTS will be able to confirm for you. You will probably find the same trader is selling the airbag as well. You could always buy the airbag as well and sell your wheel and airbag later or possibly an exchange deal to be done.

It may not be 100% fixed but if today is anything to go by it is *massively* improved. Just come back from Luton. Total of the day is Waltham Abbey, Harlow and around town, Luton and back. 1 error light since the fix. Typically I'd have expected more like 10....

Symptoms are transmission error coming up and the car locking into 3rd or 5th. I did a lot of reading.....

Fortunately the box is used in lots of other applications, so there was lots to read....

If it's selecting or staying in odd gears then it sounds like an actuator issue on the Gearbox.

Not according to the documentation. Remember it's an auto, not a CC type. It has a specific failsafe as well, which deliberately selects either 3rd or 5th depending on what gear you're in when it happens. It then locks out the electronics.

I have - they are just servicing it and swapping the steering wheel over to the facelift style one. I just wanted to get everything sorted before collection and I thought this would be the place to get advice on the finer points though. Surprising there are so few specialists who cater for this type of thing in the UK.

Cant wait to pick it up - just spent all day driving to and From Essex to pick up a 4x4 for the wife so are least one sensible car at home. The drive back in the GTS will be a little more engaging...
