Extended warranty old car

On my Ghibli Warrantywise quoted me roughly £160 per month. I didn’t bother once the selling dealer warranty ran out and just put the £160 per month away as a buffer if ever something does go wrong.
Wish I’d done that, you live and learn!

‘But my car is second hand, there are no ‘new’ parts on it. You’re business is to cover 2nd hand cars. So are you claiming everything can be classed as worn out at your whim just because it is not new?’
Add in WMS warranty company, another mob more slippery than an eel.

There is a single claim limit. Or there was on my policy. Nothing to stop you making multiple claims....

C
I’m fairly sure that if your taking out a warranty with Warrantywise yourself you can specify the claim limit. Obviously the price goes up as you increase that limit.

When I had my Alfa Romeo 33S Permanent 4 it had a warranty out of the factory warranty. Claimed for a few items all of which swiftly rejected as 'wear and tear'. Never bothered since with non manufacturers extended warranties.

When I bought my Jaguar in Paris it was sold with a warranty.
The day I picked the car up after they were supposed to sort a pedestrian warning sensor fault it was still on there.
They never fixed it.
For me a war chest is the sensible option and leaving a Google review telling everyone of your experiences ;)

When I bought the GTV 6 it came with the dealers famous 20 / 20 warranty i.e. 20 miles or 20 mins which ever came first ;)

My advice would be think carefully , they really are beautiful cars but you can't run one on a shoestring budget , to keep the value in it it'll need specialist servicing to the Maserati service schedule which won't be cheap and the warranty will have a list of exclusions or wear & tear items so you may still get a big bill.

They're also not easy to get out of , put the details of the car into motorway to give you an idea of the difference if you need to offload it quickly for any reason.

Speak to Richard Grace , at that age he may know of a car, I've read nothing but good things about his business.

As to Insurance. Sheilas wheels (part of Esure) do my GranTurismo a lot cheaper than alternative although limited miles (5k) Oddly when I told them the truth at my renewal that the car wasn't being parked in the garage at present due to building work the quote went down by £6!

Well, by default, as the product they sell is for used cars they can pull out their ‘worn out parts’ for literally everything on the car they claim to cover in reality.

‘I know it says we cover that sir, but unfortunately we believe it is ‘worn out’, so it isn’t actually covered’

‘But my car is second hand, there are no ‘new’ parts on it. You’re buisness is to cover 2nd hand cars. So are you claiming everything can be classed as worn out at your whim just because it is not new?’

‘Exactly, we love our ‘worn out parts’ clause. It means we can choose to pay out nothing if we like even for the most ridiculous reason’

Their business isn't to cover 2nd hand cars. Their business is to manage risk against paying out for 2nd hand car repairs - an insurance policy.

Insurance: another vote for Admiral

Warranty: WarrantyWise was fantastic when I had my GT. Nareman (Nuvola) included a one-year top-notch WarrantyWise warranty with the car (without me even asking) which covered for all manner of oddities without a moment's hesitation from them. An MD did all the work and WarrantyWise paid up very well as far as I was ever aware. Certainly didn't cost me a bean as WW paid the MD direct.

Applause: hurrah! Well done and welcome.

Good morning all

Anyone heard or dealt with Best 4 warranty

They offered me a deal which frankly looks too good to be true. They said I can go to garage of my choice inc. Maserati dealers

Evening all, I'm considering a 2015 quattroporte which will blow all of my savings (mid life crisis) and was thinking of taking out some warranty cover as my work salary will not accommodate a big bill if something horrible goes wrong. Ive been looking but seems the car is too old and no one wants to give quote.
Was wondering if the club had any thoughts or suggestions on the matter.
Yup.
I took out an extended warranty on one of the worlds most unreliable cars.
Range Rover (sexy rear shot provided)

So far it’s proved to be one of the worlds most reliable cars and I’m really pi55ed off that I was so reckless……so I’m prepared to take your money and cover any problems you have- up to the cost of my extended warranty.
Given you’ve no other ( serious offers that’ll pay up) I’ll pm you my bank details.;)

Seriously don’t buy a Maserati on the cheap.
Wait until you’re in a comfortable financial ( And relationship) position to buy a very good one.
Then you”ll enjoy it to the max:

In general, if it’s too good to be true, it’s too good to be true. With warranties this is specifically the case…I would go through the fine print with a very large magnifier

Too good to be true - Just wait until you put a claim in, then you will know how good they really are.

Maybe I got a rouge employee dealing with my case who’d been previously signed off too many claims, who knows.

All I know is, and I told them as much, I will tell anyone I ever get into conversation with about secondhand cars to never use their product, and also emplore them to pass on the same information to anyone they may come across considering a warranty too.
In my experience of Warrantywise, never give them a penny, leave the money in your account, and put it towards any repairs you may need.

Your experience with WW matches mine, even though I know Chris had a different experience, I would never use them again
