I used fishing line to get my bodged Sport GT badges off the B pillars. I have a very steady hand so have cleaned and repainted them with humbrol red. New ones are 57 Quid each. next job will be to find the right tape which is thin enough, strong enough and good for long term use in all weather, which here means very hot sun.

The tape that came off (used fishing line) was grey and a sort of soft foam, maybe 1mm think or less

Then I will cut it to shape with a scalpel. Wondering if I should use a UV resistant spray on them first to protect the aluminium from corrosion. Maybe not bother and just polish 'em now and again.

OK slight thread drift but what is the tale with Trident badge in grille?

Is there a difference between say 2003 4200 badge and a 2005?
One price £50 the other £200??
GS badge different again??

Yes, one is a nice piece of proper polished metal, the other is silver coated plastic. Doesn't make much difference in reality.
