Anyone know how much the emblem badges are on the back quarter ? And what they are officially called ?

Me: mate help us dry after this quick wash so it doesn't dry in the sun but just do the front as the drying towel can catch on the back badges
Mate: no probs.

Yep snapped badge

Honestly I specifically said don't go near those badges lol no hose here so I had to run in/out of flat to fill 3 buckets and its red hot so didn't want water marks.

Hey ho not the end of the world and I sort of guessed around £40

Looks like they just stick on? I'll try the old dental floss trick to get them off

I think they are similar priced if not cheaper from a main dealer.
In the grand scheme of things they are cheap!

After what my mate has gone through this last couple days I ain't even attempting to get upset about this.

Thanks for the links folks I'll get some ordered up. The red lines for the S version had actually come off but the fact they did come off I'm wondering should I just go for the plain ones

I bought a used Land Rover badge, advertised as correctly spaced on tape just needs new backing , after 2 hours of faffing about they got thrown in the tool box and I ordered some new ones

How did you get on with this, mate? Easy to replace? I'm thinking of replacing mine as all the red has worn off over time due to injudicious use of a power washer.

Yeah I'd like to know this too (how on earth do you get the old ones off and then the new ones on without ruining the paint work?)

In fairness the OP did PM me how he did it but I didn't really understand.... :-(

He is what he said he was going to do:

'For changing them however I have been thinking about it, I'm going to cut electricians tape into V at the end, say 4 strips and then point the tip at 4 keys points and take a photo. Then heat up the area with a hair drier and then use dental floss and pull it down the back, that should get it off then just give the area a clean and you can line up the new one.'

Actually, having re-read this now it does make more sense, but I can't imagine it is THAT easy? :-o (not for someone as useless at these things as me, anyway)

So use electrical tape to mark out where the current badge is
Use a hair drier to heat the area (and soften the clue)
Get some dental floss (yes really) and use it to saw through the glue holding the old badge on.
Clear the area and stick on the new badge.

Does that help?

Thanks for your help chaps. I was thinking that some red paint and masking tape could do a neat job of it? I might just get the dealer to change them (and take my trousers down) when it's in for a service in a few months!

sorry gents been iPhone less last few days and haven't been on.

I haven't got round to doing it yet, will try and order up the badges this weekend. The hair drier and dental floss trick I've used in the past though and works well

OK thanks - good tip. I'm interested to know how it goes!

Good luck :)

Thanks again.

You can buy them with red in them from Eurospares. One of mine is incorrectly located and I can see the outline of the old one, where it was presumably pinched by some lowlife. It's in for a full machine polish and detail next week and new badges on the quarters. Got them from Eurospares.

the link to euro spares in this thread refers to red marking, so are these the red ones?

Just ordered a pair from main dealer.
Choice of red insert or not.
Couple of pounds difference so splashed out.
