Dipped headlamp bulb not working on the strad

Left hand dipped beam stopped working and active headlamps not working on my Stradale. I always thought the HID bulbs were super reliable. Anybody know of common problems or do these bulbs just fail. It didn't fail while driving. Just started the car the other day and the warning about the active lights came up on the dash and the lamp didn't work. I'm guessing even a bulb change is going to be tricky ! Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

I have had them fail on other cars, they do go sometimes, less than halogen in my experience.

Changing them isn’t super tricky, the front wheel off, arch liner front section out and then access is pretty good.

May be your HID Ballast unit if not the bulb.

Be careful in there to ensure the ballast is fully discharged before touching anything on HID lights... they pack a fair electric punch.

There is an ecu on the underside of each headlight, seen them go and you can’t buy them separately. We have two.

The bulb is the obvious place to start and make sure you buy the bulbs with the ignitor on the back of them.

As I know usually HID bulbs start to glow very poor and in a red shade when they go. At least this was my situation in 2 cars already.
I also changed both on my 2009 GTS last year. So if it's just not working could also be something else, but of course first thing to try is bulb, as it's not very expensive.
Maybe you can try to switch the other one on non working side, as if it's the bulb you should change both, to have them both equal, otherwise you can clearly see they are different, what does not look good.
