I was gonna say something about workaholics here, but most of you seem to have that down. However...your holidays are definitely better!
I like bangers and mash...and fish and chips!...it's just that the name (again) doesn't cross quite as well...
Beyond pub food, what would you say is the UK's most notable contribution to global cuisine?
The food scene here is actually excellent. Huge improvement from a decade or so back. I'd say you can eat as well in the UK as you can anywhere in the world. It might cost you a few quid more, mind.thanks, Adam! Not at all being snarky...wondering about the view from there re: food scene
The Cat speaks the truth, man. What the **** is creamer FFS. Paper cups everywhere at work.
And your light switches are upside down

This I can relate to. However, their rules about excluding foreign manufacturers is 'interesting' to say the least.
UK manufacturers aren't classed as foreign!
Not trying to represent the hospitality industry here, by any stretch. I rarely eat out, as I agree with you!Beef Wellington perhaps.
Oh here's one. Your restaurants are nothing like as good as you think they are, your FDA steaks are pretty poor and you put sugar in everything.

The guns suck. No lie. Would trade that in an instant. I'm a veteran, and I haven't touched a piece since I returned to civilian life...The thing that astounds me is how everyone in the US is brainwashed by the government into thinking they live in the greatest country in the world when they have no health care, no holiday pay, no sick pay, no maternity pay and can be fired at the drop of a hat.
The recent walmart shooting brings the number of mass shootings involving four or more victims to 609 THIS YEAR and that was three weeks ago
Doesn't sound that great to me
But how many freaking teas does one person need???
can be fired at the drop of a hat.

As a Automotive professional for starters and just waking up here.

...also, horses for what?!? You eat them...?No idea, never touch the stuff
You can also walk out at the drop of that very same hat. Horses for courses

They do in France and Belgium....also, horses for what?!? You eat them...?
First time in the US for work - the shuttle bus from the NY Office to the NJ Office was full. Asked the driver what I should do - he says "Take the path to Hoboken, there's another shuttle from there". After several exchanges of dialogue, I finally twigged that it wasn't a path that I needed, but rather a PATH and I needed to walk to the station and take a PATH train to Hoboken. Until this point, I'd thought that Hoboken was a short stroll down a footpath, probably through a nice scenic park.
We gave up, went back to the NY Office and ordered a car.
...is that one of the net positives about France? They do in France and Belgium.
I can handle the random, extra "u"s inserted in words for no good reason ("colour")
