Frankly it would help if you lot would get a grip on Zulu time and proper units of measurement, but I'm not holding my breath ;)

BTW you'll be more out of step from the rest of the world for another two weeks...
.....*and one hour!* ;)

True but sad but true!!!

I still key off GMT, which is probably why I'm more oriented to the Rightpondia forum...!

It's the extra hour that just simply goes off at the deep end. At least these days I only have to deal with Antipodeans!

I grew up playing & watching baseball (and other sports) and hung up my cleats with a "career" batting average of .333. I honestly don't give a whit about any of it anymore; using the F1 fantasy thing to see if it rekindles my love for watching people drive fast. Baseball is so dull, now, and they even made the DH universal. So...no tirade or victory laps from your truly.

That said, gotta reply to @RodTungsten ...years ago, was with a girl who had cancer. She had to have a massive surgery, and I was at her bedside for the entire recovery process. Out of sheer boredom (as she was sleeping 20 hours per day), I fell into watching the college softball world series...and WOW! Those pitchers are NO JOKE, my friend...!

“Rounders” always guaranteed to get a rise over there.
Been several times to Fenway Pk and as a former (pretty useless cricketer) I appreciate the skill of pitching and even more so the hitting. My home defence round, as you say over there, is a Louisville Slugger - not apparently illegal as I also have a ball to go with it.

Been once. Made someone very angry. Lived to tell.

Okay but how is that 'calculated'? Either of them really.....

Fractions to decimals...hits to at-bats. One third of the time I hit successfully in baseball...and I have currently stayed in one of five possible marriages...

Also, Fenway is a poohole.

I watched a cricket match once. Pitcher rolled a ball in, no one on either team moved, and everyone in the stadium absolutely lost their minds. I still don't know what happened there.

A friend who was born in India tried to explain it to me, thusly: "it's just like Murican baseball, except sometimes the batter and the pitcher are on the same team, and..." I just stopped him there, as that's not at all like Murican baseball...
