Sorry guys. Had a long day yesterday. Left on the 6.00am train to get to Exeter for 11 and about 20 mins before I arrived had a call notifying me that as Carr's computer system was down, it'd be 2pm before it'd be all sorted. Not happy to say the least. I then waited half an hour at the station for them to pick me up. I then spied a bianco fuji GTS burbling round the corner and realised my lift had arrived. Most of the strange Devonians milling around looked like they'd just seen a spacecraft! Lovely car, exactly what Matt's after I believe. Also the same as Mario Balotelli which is a turn-off to say the least. Carrs showroom is under refurbishment so everything's parked out back. Allsorts of exotica but only one that bothered me. The MC victory, polished and ready to go. Had a good look around it, 2 stone chips and that's all I could find. The interior spotless, with carbon fibre everywhere. I went for a short test-drive where all was working as it should, rattle free and solid as a rock. Computer problems meant it'd still be 2 hours before I could take it so Carrs kindly treated me to lunch in a very nice hotel up the road. An hour of watching us demolish India in the cricket wasn't a problem. They came and picked me up and again were completely apologetic about the delays. Soon got sorted then and headed up the long road home. Cruised along the M5 and my only thought was the comfort of the bucket seats, however they got more and more comfy with every mile. Then got stuck for 2 hours with an accident on the M6. Not the best but gave me time to sort out the Bluetooth and fiddle with the stereo and sit in general adoration of the beautiful interior. At 6pm I finally pulled on to the M54 and headed towards the A5 home where the car really came into its element. Lovely weather, great road, roundabouts, plenty of room to overtake. The Maserati was absolutely sublime. Glued to the road doesn't do it justice! I know I've been out of a GS for 8 months but at first impression I believe there is a noticeable difference with handling and grip. Might be the placebo effect but it felt great whatever. Finally got home at half seven with a great big grin on my face not feeling particularly tired after a long day. God, I love Maseratis.
Pictures will be on later today if the sun cracks through the cloudy haze.
