just happened across this Sport Executive on auto trader. Selling for 9k after fairly recent spend of 11k on subframe and wishbone bushes.
If they do apply a CAT rating maybe just buy this? (commiserations if the seller is member here)

Thanks again guys for continuing to buoy me up.
Good news.
Heard today from the bodyshop that they have been instructed to do the repair. :thumb3:
However one of their mails (from the estimator) said some parts are on back order (from Joe Macari) with no arrival date and the other (automated looking one) says the car will be ready 26/8/2020 which would suit me nicely.
The whole process seems full of elegant mechanisms designed to make simple things complicated.

Thanks for pointing it out. As it happened this car was on my short list. The seller seemed ok to deal with from my phone call with him. But in the end, it was easier to buy a car nearer to where I live, so the car in Epsom won. Very happy with it too, apart from the dent of course.

That one has been up for sale before and surprised it didn't sell really with work done by Autoshield.

Glad to hear it! Suspense over.

This is a little harsh, if you don’t mind me saying ;)

They’ll be on holiday, hence the parts delay at the mo.

Plus; if you want a magneto for a 1929 Delage I can have it on your desk by Wednesday, barrels and pistons for a 1957 Porsche, walk into the main dealers in Tewksbury, suspension arms for a 1990 BMW E34 they’re in stock in Munich.

Oil filter for a 3200GT, “no, mi dispiace. Prego”

I was joking, but seeing as you like a broad brush, how should I portray the following experiences I have had?

Tried to get a replacement part for a tap from a company in Birmingham. It’s 8 years old but no longer available.

I needed cable sizing calculations from a company in Sweden in mid July but unfortunately it is traditional that Swedes take most of July as leave.

Personally I have not decided that England makes **** taps and that Swedes are lazy gits. You make of it what you will.

i was only commenting on Maserati.
Ferrari will sell you bits for your 250GTO, Lamborghini have now got a classic parts programme, wishbones for a Miura no problem.

I don't think I've ever seen a car in negative equity from a garage bill  surely when told 11k to fix it most people would just write it off, if it was that bad the £54 MOT would've been the end of it for me.

What kind of bolts cost £38 + vat each

He spent £2570 on it the year before to fix the drivers side window , for that price as long as it went back up, Lights on window down would work for me :D

It's all relative to the car's original cost really.
Like when I had to replace the oil/water pump unit over 6 years ago now over £1500.

True but it's also why modern maserati's are unwanted and next to worthless in the eyes of most buyers.

You'd have to be loaded/mad/in love with it to spend 14k on a 11-12 year old QP knowing its market value
