Daily driver Maser

old school. driving a mas is an event to be savored not be the norm, not eaten every day like bread and cheese............i'll get my coat.

It’s a big open ended question that as it depends on lots of things.

Miles you do a year
Budget for maintenance and fuel
Budget for the vehicle
V8 or V6
Diesel for running costs (heaven forbid) or petrol.
Do you need 4 seats
Coupe, Saloon, Sportscar.

Either way these cars will always give you bank account and good going over. GT’s will probably in the real world if you lucky do 20 mpg where as a Ghibli Diesel will be much better probably.

I had a 3200 and used it everyday for two years and it was perfect as I believe these types of cars should be used and are better for it but I only did about 6k miles a year so running costs a lot less than if I was doing 15k a year.

I’ve done about 17k miles in the Ghibli Diesel in just over a year. No more expensive to run than any BMW/Merc that I’ve had and can get 40mpg if I want to. It’s got several things that annoy me a lot but certainly gets a lot more comments than the alternative company car I could be driving, which would cost 3x what I paid for this.

Bit biased seeing as I daily mine but I think the QPV Sport GTS (or a Gran Turismo) would be the one. For a daily Id want the ZF auto behind that 4.7 V8 soundtrack.
Totally agree, I have had my 4.7 S QPV for 5 years as a daily driver. Excellent and warm car even in harsh conditions!

Once i got stuck in snow though..

And sometimes car is a bit dirty also..

Scariest car journey I ever did was coming back from London in the GT after an Experian Christmas party in Docklands. I mean, it hardly ever snows round here, and certainly not in London right?
So very very very wrong.

I left Brighton on a Friday morning with a hangover and in absolutely torrential rain to drive to West Cumbria. The clutch started going as I left and there was no way that I was standing like a drowned rat at the side of the road. Best driving I’ve ever done, reading the road ahead and nursed it all the way with no stops. Clutch went bang as I pulled into the parking bay at the local Ford dealer and I called my wife to pick me up.
