Cyprus!!

As a fellow cypriot i had to post on here and let you all know my feelings on what happening and also the truth of whats happening as the british media only show what they want you to know......


Cyprus is ******, we know that, as is ireland, spain, portugal, italy greece etc......
The EU have bailed out these countries but when it comes to cyprus they tell them no, they will not and have put a tax levy on all peoples savings.....cyprus said no to this....their other option being russia

Russia have many millions in our banks, some dodgy some legit but anyway, seeing as we have always been close as the same religion gets us close we thought they will bail us out as we have something that they want.......OIL!!

As they were thrashing out a deal and cyprus were about to tell the EU to **** off, more precise the germans, the Turks have now pipped up and said to the world that whoever goes in for the oil then they will have to go at it with them as its HALF theirs!!

From where i dont know!! They invaded illegally in 1974 and still occupy half the island illegally they are not recognised!!

As a kid i always said that cyprus one day will be taken over fully, one way or another.....its now happening!! turkey will move in and take over i cant see cypriots being around in 30 years time, with all the russians and turks on the island we have become a minority.....

I honestly feel this is the end of the island and im so sad theres nothing we can do about it, for years certain countries have been planning our demise and the time has come for them to strike.....

Israel, russia, greece....these countries always had our back, hence why we felt turkey would never invade but now they can invade legally by taking over without anyone realising it.....

Save this post and let people read it in 30 years and let hem see i was right!!

Many truths there Dem, it's just another disastrous episode in the history of the island. In truth there was no justification for the bankrupt nation of Turkey to invade in 74 why? Oh yes, Mikarios told the yanks to sod off when they asked for land to put an air base; next thing Turkey finds a reason to invade to liberate its people who were living peacefully as neighbours with the Greeks.

Now there is black gold to fight over it is wicked...

I'm due to return to Cyprus in 2 days and hope that the situation improves....unfortunately facts dictate that for it to improve Cyprus needs the courage to leave the euro, print it's own currency and control it's own destiny......whilst it may be small it can lead others out of this Euro misery.

History repeats itself over and over......Cypriot/Greek difficulties are Turkey's or other nearby countries opportunity to put one over on them.

Centuries of bitter rivalries are stoked up again and never forgotten.....revenge in any form is sweet, mark my words.

Nothing new in the world out there guys, its all happened before this time just dressed up a bit differently

The euro is an agreed monetary system Dem........Germany has now turned banker for all 27 countries......lots of inept decisions made by lots of people in lots of countries...only themselves to blame.....like here in Ireland

Dem interesting thoughts, your only saving grace here is that Turkey are desperate to get into Europe and any underhand behaviour would finish their chances.

I know there is a large Cypriot community in the UK, London especially, but just what percentage of the island are expats now?

I watch this with kean interest as it unfolds as there is some evidence that I am of Cypriot descent.

All ill say is my mum was adopted and was conceived in Portsmouth during WW2, father unknown when your lot were in town, need I say more!

Lots of European countries have ruled and tried to rule all or huge chunks of Europe .......just so happens the Germans last efforts......were filmed, well written up and particularly heinous.......plenty of other European nations have acted in a truly savage way in the recent to mid-distant past

Whatever comes out of it all Dem, Cyprus will exist as a country. There are some very serious games afoot and you and your kin are right to be scared if you remain in Europe they will protect the nation for their own interests (that bloody oil & gas again) however if they do the right thing and stick two fingers up to Europe and go back to their own currency and independence I can see any number of nations fancying another pop at taking over mostly by stealth. Most likely I think is not Russia via Turkey but the blinking Yanks disguised as 'peace keeping'!!!

Dem.......am afraid a lot of Cypriot problems are self inflicted.........plus easy prey for the bigger boys nearby.....Ireland has only recently become independent...800 years of another countries rule......the world is in a state of constant flux.......boundaries and peoples changing continually.....he who pays the banker plays the tune...in this case Cyprus got greedy as Ireland did.........and now has sold its soul.....
