Coolant pipe

Hi all.

Apologies as its most probably been asked many times before.
Anyone got the part number for the coolant pipe where the transmission has to be removed to replace it?
Getting other work done so may be good opportunity to replace.

What year and gearbox ? The p/n changed at some point

227489 worked for me

It's a really early one Nov 2007
Gearbox 6 speed zf

Looks like a y short section of high grade coolant pipe would do it.

You don’t need to remove the gearbox, plenum off. Pipe cost £7 and it 3-4hrs to replace. Done loads, it’s a pig

Thanks for the info.

Good to know the transmission doesn't need to come out to do.
I only mention it because it appears the main seal at rear of crankshaft is leaking badly so the transmission has to come out to replace that.

Am.I right in saying that pipe ( 227489) would be easier to get to in that scenario?

You can do it that way yes. If it’s coming out anyway it saves taking the plenum off

So part is available to order but not in stock.
Work being done weds so won't be here in time.
Its only a short section of pipe. ( 227489 )

Can anyone recommend a substitute?

Would the coolant pipe issue be present on a 2010 4.7 engine?
