Collecting cars GS

Very interesting car indeed!
What do you guys think, is this one more special/unique then a MCV?
Never saw such a "Cornes" edition before.
It is more rare than the MCV, as there are 35 Cornes cars as opposed to 180 MCV cars. But is not as special, and considerably less valuable, as it does not have the upgrades the MCV has, in terms of items such as steering, the seats, etc. I'd view it as more of a dealer special, rather than a bona fide factory special.

You are probably right.
But I had the opportunity once to drive a MVC and I did not like the comfort of the seats, neather the hyper direct steering.
The GS steering is great and also very usable on high ways.
MCV = nervous and tiring on high ways.
For me this “Cornes” would be the favorite one. (if you want to drive it)
Just for collecting, the MCV probably is the better choice.

looks like a pretty nice car IMHO, I'd live with that interior just fine, and certainly a talking point.

I was tempted by a GS recently, and had a good drive a look at it, made an offer too, which, in hindsight am glad was not accepted. I'm waffling here, but, other than the lethargic gearshifts, they still are great cars and I'd love one in my garage.

Given that cars in Japan are RHD, is it not strange that this Japanese market special, that was sold in Japan and lived in Japan, was build in LHD?
Or, Maserati being Maserati, did they make them all LHD even for a RHD marketplace????

I think you will find that most Maserati's coming out of Japan are LHD, it was seen as a status symbol having a LHD car apparently

That is correct.
Bought a Mercedes 500SL from Japan a few years ago, same story; first owner ordered LHD for status.
Japan EU cars often are very well maintained and in most cases very low milage.

It’s a sign of wealth - import costs for LHD cars are enormous, so it’s a way of showing off, basically

Similarly it was a status symbol in Bulgaria to have a right hand drive car. Go figure....

I checked the steering rack on both car (my MCV and my ex-10th anniversary, I imported one two years ago, only for the steering wheel;)) and it's the same reference. The 10th anniversary were made after the MCV, in fact, I suspect they were the last gransport made when you examine the vin.
The interior is a very nice place to be, the alcantara aging very well compared to the tech cloth. And the blue carbon is quite special (same as the MCV, but not all the mcv came with a carbon steering wheel). The big shift paddles are a nive feature too (again, same as the MCV).

The 10th anniversary comes with the italian flag in the front wing too.

About the value, I agree it's less than a MCV, but probably a little bit more than a "classic" gransport.

It's the same reference anyway.
207276 (LHD) and 207275 (RHD).

But it's not only the steering rack, I think the seat does a lot in the MCV feeling. Once in place, you don't move at all, and you have a better perception of the car.

I've never been 100% convinced about a couple of these things where the part number is the same, but it's somehow different.

EUR 44k plus commission! Crazy price for a left hook GS, that then needs collecting from Prague.
I was out at half that.
On the mainland of Europe, a LHD Gransport, low milage, full leather, in the most wanted colour combo‘s, did not really depreciate in the last years.
If I want a Gransport with <50k kms (about 30k Miles?) in the condition and version I have now, I still will have to pay >40k euro’s.
(And I will have to convert to boomerangs all over again;) )
