Clinking noise?

When I drive slowly with the window down I hear a metallic clinking noise on a granturismo.

Anyone else hear this? Is it the exhaust valve? Any ideas. Doesn't seem like anything is wrong but just interested to know what it is.

Have you had the tie-rods recall done? I had this on my previous GT and once this was done it seemed to go away. This may or may not have been a coincidence...

I had a clicking noise on my Gransport when pulling away and when lifting off the gas at slow speed. It was the driveshaft splines clicking in the hubs. Emblem opened them up, cleaned them out and greased the joint, all fine now. Easy way to check was to roll the car slowly down a hill in neutral and brake gently, doing it backwards and forwards. if it's suspension related it will still make the clicking noise, if it's driveshafts it won't - worked for me.

Had it on my GTS, it's that stupid electronic handbrake not fully releasing. Next time you hear it, shadow your brake pedal and you will find it goes away.

Is it after a "spirited" drive?
Could be the brake discs cooling.
Mine does it after a bit of a thrash

What year does the tie rods recall apply to?

Eeek! Can't remember, but think it may have been around 2010/11ish. But, easiest way is to phone Maranello in Egham, for example, as they'll be able to tell you, and if required carry out the work (depending on your location of course).

Thanks. I will give them a call. Mine is a 2012. Haven't managed to go out and test rolling down a hill yet.

It is definitely not the brakes. It always happens when I have just started the car and I am pulling out somewhere slowly.
