Yes seen three episodes now...sadly its less about the cars and more about these wana'be presenters and their ego.

Story line is the same each week...Cockney brit swears about the cost of the car, yank [Canadian] buys it, car had serious issue, load bald brit shots and swears and the mechanics walk off site...next day all love and happy, cars done and a £10k proffit as they don't bill for labour.

Peter, thats about where I got to. I like Bernie, but you can see its all contrived. I want to see how they repair the holes in the metal work, not the squabbling.

Hmmm.... I don't think I would. All too rushed and not enough attention to the all-important details. And not factoring labour into the costs is bullsh1t; makes a mockery of the show's fundamental precept. Still fun though.

I found the workmanship poor and the cars in some cases dangerous..

I watched the one the mustang and the porsche , entertaining to a point, but they do sometimes grate. But......... even Mrs allandwf watched ! Now she expects her car to be sorted in 3 days!

This one seemed even more clumsily scripted than the Porsche one. Entertaining, if predictable. For more reality they should do it in the dark with the wrong tools outside their parents' house on a cold winter's night and continually strip the skin of their knuckles. THEN my boys would have a realistic view of what it's like to fix up a knackered car.

The Cockney is a big girl's blouse who constanly whines. He has more strops than an army of teenage girls.

I find myself trying to watch the show and ignore him, which surely is not the point. How he is meant to be a "man's man" salt of the earth mechanic I have no idea. He is an annoying b ugger with a huge ego.

I quite like it, the E-type was a good episode, yeah they are both idiots and its contrived etc but they always buy badly so have to put things right, I mean fancy buying a Mustang without looking underneath it?
Its about cars so I watch it.

Agree, the one thing I just couldn't understand was why they left the crappy sun roof in the e type and yet they replaced the (correct) webasto in the MGB GT. Talk about a carbuncle........

Contrived as they come and suffers from that appalling affliction most programmes do whereby the tell you what they are going to show you, retell it before the break then retell what they've shown you after each break, ad nauseum.

I must admit I do watch it, because I like cars, but I record it and can condense an hour's worth of them dicking around into fifteen minutes of viewing.

I'm sure most true restorers would be horrified with the shortcuts they take: incorrect trim, '80s rooflights left in place out of laziness, etc.
