If someone inflicts physical harm on others, they should expectand be given the same reward, if someone takes a life, they should expect to lose theirs. We all know right from wrong, some of us including myself have broken the law as it is, sometimes getting away with it, sometimes not (speeding). When it comes to serious crime, it is obvious to those committing it that they are doing wrong, but some just don't care and should expect what they are given if they get caught. Making life easy on the inside is not a deterent, some are actually better off on the inside than out in the real world, this can only help to encourage repeat offending.

If they are not around anymore, they can not take another life. As more murderers come through the ranks, which is a general fault of the society they live in, then if the first lot are gone, we don't just keep doubling up and running out of prison space?

What rubbish Frank , of course its a proven fact that offenders that recieve capital punishment dont re offend , and thats exactly how it should be, a few years back mate of mine experienced the the **** hole of a jail in the Gambia , West Africa , he been involved with the procurement of wacky backy (idiot) after mere months he was out and has never put a foot wrong since , in fact he's now an elder in the Jehova's witness , worse the conditions the the better the chances of NOT re-offending , it aint rocket science just law of the jungle

Its all relative Frank in the M/east , go back to the days of Ghengis khan and the murder rate was pretty high then , as in 1916 (russian revolution) or 1939-45 Hitler era , all very eary days , but general law an order was pretty all much all under control for the masses, it was the leaders condoning and orchestrating the atrocities as ever recent in Bosnia or
Rwanda

I agree Dem, the system and the Police need to do better. I take note of your comments Frank, but we do not have as many dark people as the US, this could be a reason for the differences and that's not racist before anybody kicks off. People have been on death row for 20 years in the US, just think if they had been let out for good behavoir, how many more murders there could be??

The 1.5 is the number in 2004....in 7 years gone down to 1.2 per 100K population....so without the state murdering people....its gone down 20%.......
