What you see in the pics looks good , worrying is the reason why there aren't any pics of the front and passenger side and the interior , surely for that price worth investigating further

most of the stuff I wanted as a little kid was rubbish (TR7's etc) orthe cars my Dad had - X1/9, XJ6, 130 Coupe etc several of which I've had. Montecarlo's (Scorpion in the US) was based on the X1/9 inner shell I believe. Cracking little cars, loved the 1300 skinny bumpers - was that a "Lido" posted earlier???!! I digress...

The other stuff as I hit teenager-dom was the obligatory Testarossa/Countach 959 then F40, missed my chance on the Lambo, might squeeze a TR in but F40s will always be a lottery win away!! Then as I got my license it was stuff like Cossie's and Saab Turbos all of which were uninsurable, but bound to become worthless. Had several Saab Turbos and ignored the Cossies when I found Lancer Turbos and Starions for bargain money, and so much better built.

A Lido was just a limited edition....

As a kid alwyas loved the Alpine A110 rally car, spent all my christmas money on it.
First real car closer to reality was Fiat Coupe Turbo, so much style and speed from a fiat!

[Also loved tons of classics, already mentioned the fiat 124 coop and spyder, any 105 series alfa NONE of which are cheap]

Check out this 124 Coupe - would you really want a Toyota GT86 thingy for 2 grand more?

Love that Gordon Keeble and prices have really started to firm up now. They reckon £100k in the not too distant for the really mint examples.

I missed this thread first time around.

From my childhood: I loved my dad's Fiat 124. I couldn't believe my stick-in-the-mud dad bought a car with looks and that gorgeous exhaust rasp. It sold me on Italian metal ever since. Another friend in school had a 125 parked on his family's drive. We became obsessed about Italian cars and used to cycle down to the local dealer to 'train-spot' their stock.

Several years ago I had an opportunity to drive that friend's recently acquired 124 which is in great, untouched, condition. It was a very pleasant surprise; that peppy little engine, and a light body, meant it felt quite frisky. And that gorgeous rasp was still there. Steering was a bit scary.

Sadly my dad's taste in cars went swiftly downhill when he replaced his second 124 with a Renault 12 (which is the car I learnt to drive in), I can say nothing good about the 12 except it had a big boot.

I did not like it.....went and bought a nova GSI and all my friends soon traded them in for RS fiestas....

The quality was poor...did not want to be in one in an accident

Couldn't quite stretch to the Renault 5 Turbo, a mate had one and another at the same time the new 1.9 205 GTI.
I had though my Lancia Y10 Turbo and at the time was in full swing bare shelling by Triumph Stag!

French cars are just a no no - had a 205 GTi in the day which went well but was made of papermache.

This was the car I wanted most in all the world and probably still is
