Well my masie is going for it's annual service this weekend to meridian, waiting for the usual wallet busting.... Hopefully won't be too dear (fingers crossed)..... It's done 19,000 miles now, 10,000 in a year..... Some frustrating times with it but overall I have loved it...

Hasn't had a new clutch yet, hgoing to beopefully it won't for another 10,000 miles....

Pete

Pete mine goes in for service with HR Owen on Monday so we can compare notes. I have only covered 2,000 miles in a year........done 12,000 miles in total so just an annual service which I know is going to be £670 including Vat.......In addition I am also letting them do all four wheels which although are not badly kerbed, they are not perfect. I was lucky enough to need a new spiggot bearing which was done under warranty last year, so I changed the clutch a the same time

UM they quotes £950 so yours sounds quite reasonable. However they did phone yesterday to say my tyres are down to 3.5mm at the rear and the are going to do an alignment check.

Emblem carried out the huge 43,500 mile service on my 2006 QP in the New Year. This included lambda sensors, carbon cannister, replacement of all fluids and filters. They also replaced the rear brake pads............ Total cost £1,848.

Something is wrong there Peter, are you sure the whole service bill will become £1200 , not just the price of fitting the carbon canister , ring me again if you want

Pete,

The basic cost of the 43,500 service was a dsicounted £1350 plus VAT. It did not include an anti-freeze change or air con regas beacuse I had this work done recently. The most expensive item was the rear pads at £318. The carbon cannister was £154 and the two front Lambda sensors were £209 whilst the two rears were £104. Parts alone came to over £1000 with VAT accounting for some £275 of the total.

Paul

Paul, just noting the 43.5K service main dealer cost is the same as that quoted on a print out I got in late 2009( Full price menu)

We have an alternative for the brake pads, what about the sensors ( £209 for a pair?) and carbon filter?

Thank you for the information.... Emblem use original Maserati parts in their service regime and this is reflected in their prices. I did ask about alternative pads and we discussed other manufacturers. In the end I was persuaded to stick with the original equipment....... I don't feel too bad about having original Lambda sensors fitted given the long service intervals between replacements. This is also true of the carbon cannister.... To be honest I don't even know if there is a pattern part available for this item.

You're right Paul......if something lasts as long as it should and does its job, no probs forking out...and for delicate things like sensors, always good to go with originals.

Thanks..... What alternative brake pads do you recommend? (Emblem remain unconvinced about those they have tried. Apparantly once fitted they appear to be fine but with use they start to squeal.) I have used quality replacement pads on other cars in the past but I have been cautious with Maserati ownership.

Several off here have put the greengrippers in, including myself last week.......they seem happy enough, less dust, slightly better performance...£70 for a full front and rear set.

Hi Paul, if it's any help, I've been running greengrippers since last summer with no squeal. Rather pleased with them to be honest, irrespective of their cost.

Paul, there had been issues with other coloured brake pads.........but the grippers seemed to be doing what they said on the box!
