Depends on how much rust and how big a bolt, I guess. If you're talking about rust on a thread, I'd think it'd be ideal for anything up to, say, 10mm. Otherwise you'll be there all day. :)

Last time I used mine was to cut off the nuts holding the xenon adjust rods ends in place. It was perfect for that.

What are you actually trying to do? Diet coke might be the best bet :)

Was thinking of painting the wheel bolts before I go for the £150 new wheel bolts route.

Oh it'd do that no problem. Might take a while though. You do realise that *probably* the new paint will crack when you torque the wheel bolts up?

Someone somewhere (can't recall the thread) used these, painted to match his wheels:

I say those, I haven't got the link but I'm near as damnit certain it was Astra caps.

Insignia ones...but they are a faff to get off and on. Granted the only time (touch wood) that the wheels need removal is by a garage at service.

Ross,
Can't you find a wrecked car and get bolts of it that are not rusty, are all yours rusty, or just a few..??

If all yours are bad, then it has to be a full set. I take it that they will not polish up off the car with a bit of hard work and something like brasso, or a good chrome cleaner..??

They just go rusty again. I think the only permanent solution is stainless ones from Sprog.

To be honest I don't know what mine are, but they are as bright as buttons unmarked and they look chrome, so it may depend on what you have fitted, or they improved the bolts for slightly later cars, not sure..??
