Took it out for a blast, might just be me, seems to shift through the gears a whole lot smoother and no reoccurrence of the light.

I'll get ready to change the f1 pump anyway (at some point) but I don't get any jerking when going up through the gears now.

OK so 2 more drives today and on the first, 2 or 3 occasions where it wouldn't shift up and got the light.

Definitely shifting smoother and on the way back was faultless, but I think it's new F1 pump time.

@conaero could you please advise what the book time is for fitting a new pump?

Cheers all

Well that was an interesting drive over to shiltech. Stop at some lights, middle lane of 3 and could not get out of N. Cambiocorsa light on, hazards on lol

Turned everything off, tried to restart the car, starter wouldn't tick over, steering locked going nowhere. Fortunately had a spanner with me, so disconnected the battery, reconnected it, and she started right up and off we went.

Red cambio corsa light intermittently flashing we got to Shiltech with new F1 pump in hand.

Me thinks good timing ...

Very important mate , saves going down too many difficult rabbit holes
If the pump doesn't fix it, ultimately I lose nothing as @conaero suggested change the pump ASAP given the age and miles.

But the brake switch is in the back of my mind.

Given it was regularly flashing on the way over, I should know quickly if the pump doesn't fix it!

Thanks to Shiltech today for sorting me out. Glad I didn't give it a go, sounded a bit of a battle!

Pump changed, no reoccurrence of the cambiocorsa light on the extended journey home, jobs a good'un it would seem :)
and the paddles?

I'm sure it will be fine. Mine appears to have been on its first F1 pump (20 years 67k) and I knew it was failing.

Now she drives like a dream :)

It’s a bit of a fiddle, with bleeding it’s a mornings work, 3-4hrs depending upon sheering nuts on the heat shield that will need to be drilled out and tapped.

When the relay goes it’s usually a sign the pump is struggling. Overloads it and pop. Change it.

It took them longer than it normally takes them (apparently), but within that time frame.

I didn't mind, was too busy drooling over 2 F430 spyders an F12 and a Diablo :shy1:

It’s a fiddle. Car with on and off the ramp = 1/3rd hour, bleeding half hour, 2 to change the pump plus up to another hour faffing about with rusty and sheared bolts.

The pump is mounted on a triangle stand-off plate, top bolts a pig.
