Looks like a good Midlands Turn out, maybe we can meet enroute around Donnington Services?, Convoy from there, then country roads for Junc 28 into Hardwick?
Roger, could meet you at 15A for the Run up to Donnington?

Cheers

Hi Dave

Sounds like a plan.

Might well have a car load on the day as we may make it a family day out?

Sounds like a plan. How about...

Meet at Donington services.

The services are a bit confusing off the motorway. You leave at 23A if northbound, but 24 if southbound. If southbound there's a short stretch of duel (A453) to the Donington services roundabout. If you're coming to Donington services from the A50 then it's the A50 right to the end following the signs for the M1 and then the same stretch of duel carriageway to the services roundabout.

Leave the services and then a quick blast up the A50 to Jn 2 turning right / north onto the A6.
Turn left / west onto the A52 (Brian Clough Way).
At the roundabout turn right / north onto the A61 (Sir Frank Whittle Road).
Stay on the A61 to Alfreton golf course turning right / east onto the A38.
Travel on the A38 crossing the M1 and then turning left / north onto the B6027.

By this point it's local roads..

Bear left onto Chesterfield road to the T junction turning right onto the B6014.
Turn Left onto Shepherds Lane, which bears tightly to the right to then turn onto Stanley Lane.
Travel north on Stanley Lane turning sharp right onto the drive to Hardwick Hall, being careful over the speed humps.

It will take the best part of an hour, so as MITCAR opens at 10.30am, how about we meet at the services around 9am for a quick coffee and chat aiming to be away for 9.30 - 45am.

Oh and don't forget it's a fiver to get in if you're in an Italian motor.

Sounds perfect Miles,

Timings are good for me, great route detail, who needs satnav!

Roger, Lydia & a mate will be with me so sounds good, guess we need to meet at 8.30 15A services to get to Donnington for just after nine?

Yes, still good for Sunday although I will have to see you there as I won't be able to get my act together for a 9am at Donnington Services, looking forward to seeing you there!

I had a 3200 GTA a few years back, took it to the ring. & topped it out at 171mph on the Bahn.. Loved it.. I will come & say hi at Hardwick

That proves it; I got 175 on the Nantwich bypass with the roof down. I loved it just that little bit more so, 4200s rule!
