It does look like an A-Series engine Frank, but listed as 2.3 litres?? Looks like a Lagonda/Bentley replica, not sure how well it'd go... slowly I'd say!

Sometimes the past is the past for a good reason... Actually thinking about it the leafs on the front and what looks like drums, it could be daimler based?

Perhaps a Jag 4.2 straight 6 would be a better bet, it would sound right; old and rattly. Could be an amusing project for those long winter evenings.

BTW that engine is/certainly looks like a Ford 2.3 V6 out of a Cortina Mk IV. A gutless pig-iron boat anchor.

Hi Loz,

There was I think a vintage Bentley kit car that was based on a Sherpa van of all things. I remember being camped near the owner of one at Le Mans a few years ago.

Sacrilege! That is like basing a Ferrari copy on something like, lets say, an MR2. Nobody would be that stupid, surely.

You mean like this Benny?
MR2Ferrari.jpg

Or this? (although it's harder to tell the two apart, one is a real 360 & the other is a MK3 MR2!)

Then there are companies who will make you a Ferrari-esque copy from a Peugeot 406 coupe of all things! Front wheel drive, diesel maybe?!

I bet it sounds really realistic. Straight 4 V Italian V8. Why would you bother?

No mate, not even a little bit. It's like wearing a fake R0lex, you lose all credibility when you get found out. And you will get found out very easily in that thing as fully loaded milk floats blow your doors off.
