Cali T - first issue

Got my 2015 7k mile Cali T at the start of Oct. Absolutely love it. First issue though, MCSF light came on the other night. Revved ok (as in not in limp home mode).
Stayed on yesterday so contacted the dealer (bought it from official main dealer), they said contact Ferrari assist, who were exceptional. Collected the car last night on a flat bed, will deliver this morning.

Lets hope it is minor or covered under warranty!

2 things I learnt last night..
  1. The anti tilt alarm works well
  2. The tracker works well. I gave the driver the tracker fob but still got a call from Vodafone as they explained if the vehicle moves without the ignition it triggers a response.

Not that I am hazarding a guess what your issue is, I used to get that on my Alfa GTD and it was turbo/EGR valve related. Let us know what it turns out to be.

I’d expect Ferrari Assist to cover any cost, given you’ve only recently bought it from a main dealer with a warranty.

At the weekend the electronic (keyless) key stopped working on my big Rangie. The car is now nearly 4 years old and just out of warranty. I called LR Assist and they came later that day and fixed it for no charge.

I will report back
The car has Ferrari warranty so hopefully all will be covered.... (runs off to touch wood!)

Slumming it in the Ghibli today ;)

Spoke to Ashley and he says that that engine is very, very good.

Without seeing it, he would look at sooting of the engine ports due to lack of use/short runs so maybe a simple “Italian tune-up” is required.

Cheers for the info. I did wonder if it is the lack of miles that is the issue. I have done about 500 in the month I have had it though.. ! Its garage queen days are numbered haha

In my experience ferrari assist and main dealers are amazing. I would be suprised if it’s not covered under warranty. I agree with Ewan- Even if it technically isnt- you have had the car such a short time they will do whatever they can to look after you. And they hope you will be back next year for an F12!

Update of sorts. They have found a fault code and have contacted Ferrari and are awaiting a "guided fault finding method" from them

Thats what I thought which is a bit worrying!
I’d be more concerned about the lack of explanation- a known fault code surely has some sort of symptom/diagnosis. Can’t they explain to you what it relates to......engine, gearbox....?
I’m sure it will all be sorted but being in the dark is disconcerting.

There is a separate warning for gearbox iirc. Itll be engine related somehow. It was running fine...
They only gave me that update after chasing them...

They seem to have to ask some mythical god of engineering in Italy about everything that went wrong with mine...

It does beg the question as to why they bother with error codes if even the dealers dont know what they are or how to fix them!

Same reason software logs stuff that sometimes needs to go to the devs to get checked....

Perhaps they do know but have to wait for authorization from Italy before they are allowed to fix it.

Because the code may not actually indicate the fault. Think of it like a cough. Is it a virus or a bacteria? Or (if you're technically minded) a 500 error. Is it RAM exhaustion, CPU limiting, back end failure etc etc etc
