Bolton 3-0 down at top of the league Carlisle - 3-3 - fooking buzzin' now!

Nice night for a walk down Botchergate for a black eye if there was no COVID and of course I still lived in the area. Loved Black-eye Friday, no Scottish fivers.....

Utter ****. I'm amazed anyone could even be arsed to write that.

In other news, Elvis is alive and well and living on the moon.
No.
You just need to watch Question Time with her and Hislop on this subject. She is a retard, a bully, loves herself and is a disgrace to humanity. Otherwise she’s ok. No she isn’t.

I make no comment on the individual but her view on the death penalty is one of public record and it is well documented she is in favour of it.

I make no comment on the individual but her view on the death penalty is one of public record and it is well documented she is in favour of it.

Surveys typically show that about 70% of people in the UK say they are in favour of the death penalty for some crimes. It is often used as a good example of how we elect a representative parliament to be more thoughtful and considered than we are ourselves.

I would not be amazed to hear that a Home Sec was floating the idea with civil servants, and it might even poll well, but it is hard to see it being Conservative policy enacted through a mandatory whip, and it would never have the necessary support in a free vote. So just the original message is just propaganda, really.

So this document basically says, "The UK has left the EU, so isn't in the EU any more". That seems fine to me. Of course there were consequences, and it is silly to pretend that there weren't supposed to be any. I happen think the consequences were worth it, others do not.

And there is apparently zero tariffs for goods, which should be the aim of the trading relationship between all civilised countries.

And it also has a strong and very positive list of areas of continuing co-operation, such as Horizon2020 and Euratom, which Remainers in my world were crying and screaming about 4½ years ago.

Well it would appear that “the deal” has more holes in it than a fishing net.

Umpteen areas still not clear, finance, Gibraltar etc. Deal covers goods, not services.

Seems to Uk will embroiled in constant discussion and potential renegotiation of many areas in 4 years......additionally the EU retains the right to impose punishing tariffs on UK firms if it believes we have broken our promise to abide by shared standards.

Can’t say I’m surprised- Johnson is well known for backtracking on virtually everything he says.

What suprises me (not) is that the news is not full of how bad a deal it is. Which makes me wonder if it is in fact a good deal. The only story that seems to be doing the rounds is fishing, which over a period seems to get better for Uk fishing, so it seems another non-story just to whip up negativity.

Any country can be in H2020, you just have to decide to pay into it. Israel is for example.

As for Erasmus, the UK is very well placed in the QS international league tables. We have lots to offer so people need to sell the benefits to us not the other way round.

and don’t get me going on the SNP who argue the deal is bad for Scottish fishermen when they get more fish than before and the SNP wants to take Scotland back into the EU which would give them less fish again and the requirement for a hard border with our biggest trading partner.

The proof of all trade deals lies in how they work over time. Of course all such deals allow participants to back out and/or impose tariffs in the future. They are hard work which is why staying in the EU and fighting for member states rights was the more rationale choice but the vote had little to do with that.

Sure Services are to be agreed and the UK has a large trade surplus with the EU here. However Germany had a massive goods trade surplus with the UK so it will be a question of negotiation and behind the scene threats on tariffs on the latter which will sort it all out.

Remember the UK had already agreed to raise the bar on banning live animal exports. It’s not a race to the bottom as the liberal London elite media like to say. Things will be fine if we just ignore the static and focus on the real content.

Why?? Isn’t the a tariff and duty free trade zone better than the alternative? Or is it because we prefer a red cross in front of everything?

As Wattie said. The deal covers good, not services. Where do we make 90% of our money? Services.
