my car has a few imperfections on it as pointed out to me when it was detailed, shown me I few things that I was not aware of.

But is it quite normal for the maserati to have poor finish to the paint?
Perhaps we all need to look deeply into our finishes on a sunny day and see what the general consensus is?
would be interesting.
I will start the ball rolling..
My car has a very subtle orange peel to all surfaces bar bonnet and bumpers.

My nero 4200 did have this orange peel effect going on when I bought it. When I had it detailed this time last year, the detailer commented about the interesting nature of the paint. Intitially hard, it became soft quickly under detailing attention. He said it was of good quality, consistency and depth.

I have no idea what this really means in paint terms. The darker arts of detailing are beyond me.

As for the calipers. I'm having mine painted yellow as soon as time and finances allow.

soory for hijacking this thread by the way.
If the cars black and the wheels are dark then yellow.
If the wheels are light then Red.
any other colour and its down to the owner really.
But Aluminium coloured calipers on Grigio mercury is a bit of an odd selection IMHO (like my car is lol) and a waste of £500 as an option.
I think mine should have been RED.

I would only opt for Aluminium brakes on a Blue car, like on this 360 CS they looked really smart, makes a change from the usual yellow and red.

How about NOT going with red or yellow? With your body colour, and with your wheels, why not consider gold? VERY easily over-done so you need to be careful, but if you get the shade right it could look very subtle and smart?

Right, I'll get me coat.................

Actually Miles, Gold does look quite nice, Mercedes use it on the AMG Ceramic brakes and it does look the part in Gold, even Dem said it looks good so that is something.

I would think gold is a bit blingy, unless you are doing it to match the gold medallion on your hairy chest. The fact Merc do theirs gold proves the point; you won't see gold callipers on an M3!
