Yep - I've got a light weight washer dangling from a piece of string tied to the rafters in my garage. When it moves, I'm far enough in to be able to close the door! Otherwise, reverse into the space.

I've a cork hanging from the rafters in mine. When it touches the windscreen, i'm in the ideal position.

I was expecting someone to be bringing their other half, girlfriend or wife into this one. What method do they use to know when the vehicle has been parked so to say? fnarr fnarr!!

Anyone can chip in & tell me the correct way to spell fnarr fnarr btw as I have never had any idea!

Wives and girlfriends do not put cars away in garages - as any fool knows -.... they just leave them abandoned, slightly sideways in the drive... usually with one or other door or boot still open and in desperate need of fuel.....

And when they need fuel, they ask us to take the car to the station to fill it up

Oh that's my kids, my wife only gets 4mpg out of her Fiat 500 - the kids get the other 30 odd mpg!!!

I know of at least one, and very strongly suspect of two other wives that would be queuing up to explain to you the error of your ways. And that's just in *this* forum

I suspect there are always exceptions to any rule ... and clearly exceptional individuals... nevertheless... the responses here would appear to reinforce our "popular misconceptions".. those that just don't fit in with the average must bask in the glory of their exceptional attributes......
