Boot Access 4200

Turned off battery and closed the boot I have tried the manual key, it turns about 15 degrees but doesn't pop the lid, never used the lock before..should I be more vigorous? no luck with the glove box switch.

Apply a gentle pressure to the boot lid when turning the key to aid releasing the lock, try a little oil in the lock; as they are so rarely used they can be problematic...

I found some margarine from the fridge at work for lube and slipped in the key, as advised a bit of j j jiggling, some pressure on the end and hey presto I was in! Thanks for the advise.

My boot would not open on the fob or the glove compartment button after returning from a family trip over the bank holiday. Fortunately, it opened with the key. I checked the relay and swapped it with the same fuel tank flap relay and found it ok. So not relay.

I checked fuse no 9(luggage compartment lid, coil for luggage compartment and fuel tank flap opening cut out relay(rear)
which was ok.

Is this the correct fuse to check? Is there another fuse or relay to check?

I can hear the relay click and I swapped the 2 relays round so it's not the relay. I was not sure if no 9 was the correct fuse. Any ideas it by the relays above the battery

If memory serves from when I did the remote boot release, there's nothing from the relay to the solenoid.
Best guess is the wire has cracked in the section where it passes from the boot to the lid.

You may find this helpful if you put 12c on the cable directly....

Tried but nothing, looks like I might have to remove some bits for further investigation

It could be a cracked cable in the route to the boot lid from the boot, bendy type hose between the two..??

Normally it won't fire when the boot is open. As I found out when I did the release in the thread above

This seems a good place to start, boot light stopped working a few months back aswell
