I've just watched a new paint process that absorbs 99.6% of visible light called VantaBlack

They took a 3D imprint of a face , cast it in bronze, painted it black then coated it in this new VantaBlack process and all the features disappeared

Looking straight at it you couldn't see anything other than black, but turned sideways you could see the shapes, it must cost a fortune, expect to not see a Lamborghini outside Harrods coated in it in the summer.

Saw that (or rather didn't); I think a car in that would instill a fear in people, even on a small scale it was odd to look at.

If they did coat a car in it they'd have to cover it in LEDs like TRON , you wouldn't get a mile before somebody pulled out in front of it .

Imagine tanks and planes coated in it , the first you know about it is the muzzle flash 10 seconds before your death

Was gonna say I can see its uses but on a car is asking for it, surely the point of cars is wanting to be seen?

So after years of making the world bright and colourful we are now going to paint things invisible ;)

Clever technology though

Surely you just woudn't see the details. You'd still see a bloody great black shape either
a) Coming down the road
b) Storming across the border surrounded by troops.

Of course, you may struggle to recognise what it *is* but I suggest even that is unlikely since camoflage works by breaking up the outline. This would just become a silhouette.
