The questions I asked him are
Is the plate staying on the car, what were the condition of all 4 tyres and Are you a trader, replys were
Plate is coming off and 05 plate going on, two front tyres good condition and the two rears are at about 3 mill and will ned replacing soon, coincidence that he's selling the two cars at once. Also asked if there is anything else he has forgotten to mention about the car good or bad, I'm still waiting on a reply for that,

My offer was going to be the lower end of 13k What ya think?

I don't think there's anything wrong with offering under £13k, but if I were you I'd want to look at the car before offering - is it close to you?

No it's not but offer would be conditional on a ppi and personal inspection
Edit well it would be it just depends what part of the country is on any given day.

But will wait till Robert has reply with what question he asked though..I suspect though asking if his wife or daughter was included in the sale would prob send me off on one too :p

As long as offer is conditional.....never buy these cars without looking at them or inspecting

Even if you get it at 12K!!!!

Good point about getting inspected, then get some prices. I accepted a couple of minor problems with my purchase which on a normal car would be less than £100 (handbrake adjustment), but turned out to be just short of £300 for a Maserati. If I add up the cost of the "little jobs", I've probably aded another £2k to the cost, I still love my car though.
Someone mentioned tyres, another good point.
Then there's the last service, did I read that it wasn't completed by a Specialist? I'm all for keeping maintenance costs down and there are jobs that a good mechanic can do but whether you love it or hate it the service stamp is important if you want to buy a warranty or sell on.
As for the wife and kids, if there not included who's going to valet the car? (Sorry for the chauvinist comment, just a joke)

Nothing wrong with tha offer....Would imagine he's looking for 14500/15000....But the car was for sale when it sold last for 14500 if my memory serves me right.....

If you can get it for 12k or lower and have to spend 2k on her thats still a cheap face lift car....Not many face lift cars under 16k let along under 15k

Yeah it is now very cheap,, I do want the face lifted version tbh. I've got my price firmly in mind now and will agree to the car if there is no more than £1,750 worth of work needed. Although I don't like the alloys...
Just a quick thought though didnt the facelift come with a wheel change upto 19's?

The alloys on the car were an option up until 2005 then they become standard..Always 18's......Must say for me they are the best looking wheel for a 4200....The only 19's available as an option were the Gransport ones that you could have in late 2005 early 2006...They were an option to shift the remaining stock.....

Ahh there we go then :)

Just had a reply from my last MSG to the chap
" the ad is pretty comprehensive. I don't think there is anything missing from it. Still on private plate will transfer when it sells... Lots of interest this weekend and a few offers pending so might be an idea to bid sooner than later"

.3 offers on eBay showing all 3 declined......

Looking at the advert and description it looks like the usual suspects have been repaired quite recently. Could get away with only needing to spend £2k and that could be spread over a month or two.
