it looks similar to the 'other' car, but I think that had bright red and black seats; this one looks more like Bordeaux and black. Difficult to tell tho. Mileage looks similar as I recall. The other car was in Oxford.

Perhaps it is the same one - I see the last service was in Oxford. The previous sale started at £15k or so, but the price dropped to £12k before it was sold.

Must be a dog if it's being turned around so quickly?
If yours is the best bid on ebay does that mean you have to buy without an inspection or i guess you have it inspected before you bid.

Wild assumptions like that really infuriate me - who's to say what the reason for selling is?! Quite often people don't keep these cars for long - it may be a dog, but without seeing it you don't know and it might be a great car - a bit of an unfair comment. Maybe he hates the lazy CC changes or the Honda-style back lights....?!

In terms of your other question - yes, if you make an offer on eBay and it's accepted, then you would be committing to buy - unless of course you'd made a prior arrangement with the seller (or put it in the message accompanying the offer) that it was based on a positive inspection outcome.

I agree with you nigw.every car needs to be assessed on an idividual basis.low price or high, high mileage or not you need to check them over and go from there.sure there are some dogs out there but some bargains too.personally having inspected cars for over a decade there are no hard and fast rules regarding price.go and look.rob

Well sorry to infuriate you like that... Unless you're a dealer why would you buy a car and turn it around so quickly? Especially via ebay? May be the next purchaser will join our forum and all will become clear :)

Hi Whitehead,
I take your point, but how many people do you know that want to sell their car cheap? unless they need the money in which case I feel for them.

Hello taliesyn.you ask how many people want to sell their cars cheap?well judging by the success of we buy any car quite a few!sure there are a many scruffy cars out there and they do change hands regularly.the car you mention may well have been purchased to sell on and could actually be quite good.i have sold ,restored well over a couple of hundred motors and there are no hard and fast rules regarding purchase .you must look and weight it up.as for people being touchy on this forum ,most I have contact with have been great however some people can be negative.please ignore it and good luck with you search.regards.rob

Who's being touchy? A ridiculous comment was made and addressed by a couple of people including me. The only negative point raised in this thread is the unfounded suggestion that the car 'must be a dog'. The owner could have a perfectly genuine reason for sale, the poster has no knowledge either way. If somebody was speculating online about my property in this way with zero foundation I would be furious (and touchy!)
