Hi all

Can anyone recommend a battery for the granturismo?

Getting the stroppy Italian maserati thing ,so most likely time for a new battery.
Currently got a Banner. See pic.
Put on by the dealer over 4 years ago and judging by their horrific customer service was unlikely to have been new at the time.

Suggestions very welcome

Thanks for that.
Just to confirm this one? See pic
I have an Exide Premium in my Porsche 993. Used to use Bosch but was not impressed. The Exide seems to be better. Had Yuasa in both my 4200’s decent battery also.

Bear in mind, with mail order from Tanya, if you want to claim on the guarantee you have to pay the return shipping.

Local motor factor is the best place to get one, any problems they can test on site and arrange replacement there and then.

Ok thanks will check it out.

Development may have occurred.
Might be alternator.
Charged battery for 3 hours. Enough to start car.
Went for a drive. Not far maybe 8 miles or so.
Got car in garage and while it was ticking over starting berping with loads of warnings and failures and was starting to run bad.so low voltage.
So charging battery overnight.
If it charges ok guessing alternator.
Also sounds different.

Could have been worse could have broken down.

Genius!!
Going to replace the battery as well as the alternator.

Pretty sure it's the original alternator so its done good!

It’s wise to replace an aging altenator just get a new one and don’t get it reconditioned by anyone other than a Bosch service centre. Seen them go up first hands, more than once but on the same car after having it rebuilt for a second time.

I had all sorts of issues which were narrowed down to a bad battery by the good people of this forum. Bought a Varta G3 best part of a year ago and only driven 2,500 miles since. Long gaps between usage and even stored over winter (disconnected) and it still works perfectly. Cost £105
