Looked at the site yesterday Frank and did think it wasn't as bad as I first thought...Its just so bloody boring with no flair or style really...Not good for the marque...Take the grill off and add an Audi grill and that would not look out of place....So sad.

It was always going to happen, just the prices we have to pay to keep the brand going, didn't do porshe any harm

I'm not really a fan of any 4x4 but even though it's sacrilege for Maserati to make a 4x4, I actually think it's one of the better looking ones. I won't be buying one but it looks better than a Cayenne, Touareg, Range Rover, Q7 etc. I reckon they'll sell loads as 4x4's nowadays are all about the badge and the bling.

Terribly worrying move.
This is likely to be a Jeep with Maserati face and built in the US.
Not that I have anything against US cars; I don't - I'd even go as far as to say that I like many a lot.
It's just that it won't be an Italian Maserati.
Progress and economics probably force the issue and any talk of Porsche not being affected by the Cayenne or Panamera aare only true if you are a manager at Porsche. If I were a Porsche owner I'd be horrified by the moves of the brand and would be looking to leave the ship!
Maserati's 'raison d'etre' is somewhat different and won't take account of loyal owners.
Think Jaguar, Land Rover and Bentley.
The price of soul and heritage vs the name of Victoria Beckham (to use one name only).

Written by a disgruntled old man who has his head buried in the sand ....but quite likes being there!

My overriding concern is that Kubang only scores 13 in scrabble, which means its success can only be improved by prudent placement, and even then it's handicapped by low value components It's a real concern and to be honest I would seriously think about dumping the tiles in the hope of getting Turismo, which of course scores 59 and in using all seven tiles clearly demonstrates itself as a complete entity that doesn't rely on clever positioning.

It is good for us that it is happening even if none of us ever buy one.

Well...if you look back over their history, all sorts of horrific and bizarre decisions were made to keep Maserati going.......how many times were they inches from going under?!

This doesn't rate amongst any of those really.

You know when they unveil a new car at a motorshow you hear claps and gasps from the crowds...Don't think I heard a thing from the crowd when they took the cover off.....Best thing I can say is I like the rear lights...

Well if it is over £100k it says a lot about where Maserati is going. Personally I think that the list prices of the GranTurismo range are £10-15k high but they are getting away with it. If the Kubang is over the ton as a basic price then so will the replacement big QP.

With Ferrari now in the £150-250k price bracket then Fiat presumes that Maserati can happily sell at £75-125k; ie half that. Shame as it's all getting out of hand, mind you can spec an Audi A7 up to £60k with little effort!

You mean the Q7?? Yes that can be expensive same as range vogue.....
The maserati has to be 50k for entry spec if higher then itll get slated, others do it better.....itll ruin the name if going cheal but reviewers will call it a cherokee thats 100k....
