Maserati have already said the QP will be moving up market and I read somewhere that thats a 100k plus starting price...They are hoping the new small Chrysler...sorry the new small Maserati will pick up the mantle for in the 'cheaper' sector....

Maserati are changing their price point as the GT and recent prices for the QP show. If the Kubang is over £100k then the large QP surely will be too? That would make the 'cheap', smaller, QP about £70k IMHO.

I would guess that the replacement GranTurismo (2015?) wold move up market too. The good thing about that is that if would free space to bring in a £60-70k real replacement for the 4200. I would hope that that would have four useable seats as I see that as the USP of the 3200/4200/GS/GT ranges but I would not be certain.

You mean the Q7?? Yes that can be expensive same as range vogue.....
The maserati has to be 50k for entry spec if higher then itll get slated, others do it better.....itll ruin the name if going cheal but reviewers will call it a cherokee thats 100k....

You are right to mention the Q7 as that is better in the context of this post. That said, I was talking about the A7 as I was looking at that when I decided that the 4200 was going. That is when I realised that the Germans are wacking their prices up too - hence the room for Maserati to move further upwards. Depressing! I managed to get my brain round buying a new, low spec GTS as I got a great discount but the car still cost more than I really wanted to spend. When this one goes - a fair few years away - I have no idea what a new Maserati will cost!

Incidently, people spend £80-100k on a Cayenne when the donor car is a £35k VW. Indeed people spend that much on a Cayenne when they can get a diesel Cayenne for half the price.

The Kubang will sell, Maserati's volumes will rise appreciably (mainly in BRIC economies) and we will get better new Maserati Coupes/Saloons in Europe. Everyone is a winner!

That's exactly right. Spot on!
