A black Bentley Supersports caught my eye when I was thinking about what to get next. Pretty stunning machine! Bet they are very special cars to own.

Well @MAF260 is the Supersports expert. Mine was a lowly GT Speed.

The Supersports is an absolutely phenomenal car. I'm coming up to my 3rd year of ownership and am still besotted with mine.

With a very big dose of reluctance, its time for me to put my Gransport up for sale.

She has been with me for just under 2 years now, and during this time I have completed a very long list of things to bring the car to as close as perfect as I can! I will list the bigger bits below, but I'm sure I will forget things so if there is anything else you need to know, please feel free to ask. Reason for sale is that I have had a V12 itch for some time, and before its too late! New car has now arrived and I have been told that I cant justify keeping both :).... so time to find a new home for this fantastic Gransport.

The car was on registration E1 MWH, but is in the process of reverting back to its original plate which is RX06WLZ.

  • March 2006 car in Argento Luna with full Blue Scurro leather (inc headlining) One of just a couple in the UK Im told. Just sneaks into the lower tax bracket which is a small additional bonus!
  • Electric/ heated seats with colour matched Argento Luna seat backs which look stunning and really lifts the interior of the car.
  • 42,000 miles and serviced every single year of its life from new. Last service carried out in Aug 21.
  • Taken care of during my ownership by SportsItalia who know the car very well.
Summary of works during my ownership:
  • New clutch in Aug 2021, (500 miles ago) fitted by sports Italia.
  • Front end re spray to correct a slight colour mismatch following a previous owners blow over to fix road rash. Very high standard of work (at a cost of £3k) The whole exterior of the car is now 100% blemish free and with ZERO chips or marks) The paintwork is like a mirror as hopefully you can see!
  • All 4 alloys fully stripped and re finished by Lepsons. All wheels are completely unmarked and the finish is flawless
  • Michelin Pilot sports all round
  • New front and rear OEM discs and pads.
  • No sticky buttons/ trim parts.
  • Underside of the car fully inspected, cleaned and treated with Dinitrol (Sportsitalia)
  • Complete upgrade of factory Auditorium sound system (approx £3k) All high end Focal components, Amp. Pioneer reference head unit with bluetooth/ USB. Completely different level to the original Auditorium setup.
  • All badges replaced with brand new/ OEM items as originals showing slight signs of age.
  • All relays controlling window drop replaced with high quality replacements
  • Both window regulators strengthened and upgraded with stainless pivots to prevent this common and expensive issue from occuring in the future.
  • Larini exhaust and X pipe. I have the original parts which will be included in the sale.
  • Genuine Gransport car cover
  • Wheel spacers that can be removed if not to your taste.
  • An additional long list of smaller items and sundries. All with supporting documentation.
To the very best of my knowledge, this car does not have a single fault or issue! She drives perfectly and sounds incredible with the Larini exhaust. Anything and everything that has been required has been done, along with a fair bit that I probably didn't really need to do:) The car has always been garaged during my ownership and is only ever used in dry weather.

14 service stamps in the book! All of them from Maserati, or very reputable Maserati specialists.
I know there are a couple of previous owners on here, and it was previously sold by Richard Grace. Most recently its been taken care of by Ash and Matt @ SportsItalia who I'm sure would be happy to talk you through this car.

Please see the following link for additional photos:

£25,500 ONO.

Any questions at all then please let me know.

Thanks,

Matt.

Beautiful car. Any issues with strange noises like from the rear diff at all?

Beautiful car. Any issues with strange noises like from the rear diff at all?

Hi Mavster, I'm guessing you might have taken a look at this car before I purchased it, and probably had a chat with its previous owner(s) on this subject as did I :)

I got the car over to SportsItalia shortly after taking ownership as it was due its annual service. I had them thoroughly check the gearbox/ diff for any sign of issues. The car did exhibit a little bit of diff chatter on slow speed full lock cornering when cold, but no more so that I have experienced on previous cars (TVR with an LSD in particular) As mentioned above, this car has been somewhat of an open wallet affair, so I had budgeted/ prepared for a repair or replacement if the news was not good.

The gearbox and diff was given a thorough check at SportsItalia on my request. The gearbox fluid was dropped, filter replaced and a very small amount of friction modifier added on the advice of Ash.
The oil that came out appeared fine with no visible contaminants. I have covered just over 4k miles since then and all has been absolutely perfect ( well, apart from the clutch tang fail that I mentioned above!) Diff chatter is no longer present.

I'm sure the guys at SportsItalia can give anyone interested the detail on this.

Bit more info on the subject, taken from one of Aldous Technical pages ...

Did you manage to find a good one in the end? More than welcome to come and have a look if you are still on the search.

Cheers,

Matt.

The Supersport is a significant step up I understand. Much like a Strad. Hardcore version has no rear seats and bucket fronts.

The Supersport that caught my eye was all black, with the most amazing black and red piped interior. Very sports car for what I would normally think of when picturing a Bentley, but Stunning to look at....and 621BHP W12 up front. Would love to try one out!

Sounds like the Supersports you saw may have been a 4-seater?

758bhp is more fun ;)

Have you got the earlier gen 1? How have you found the running costs and reliability compared to your Gransport?

I have the original 2-seater Supersports. I'm coming up to 3 years of ownership and so far it's been massively cheaper to run than my GS aside from fuel (!). I never found my GS to be unreliable, it only failed me a couple of times in 8 years and that was due to clutch failure and throttle pot failure. The GS threw pretty much all of the standard issues my way over time, all were sorted with no expense spared - a large file of invoices has hopefully given @PhillV8S some comfort! The Bentley in comparison has never failed to start or proceed (yet). Aside from servicing (which isn't expensive via a good indie) it's needed a power steering pipe and air-con condenser, both of which I replaced in my garage at home.

I would imagine its fairly easy to get to this kind of power with maybe a de cat/ remap before the need to start swapping and upgrading expensive internals and turbos?. What can the w12 produce without serious work?

I've been told they're good for 1,000bhp + on stock internals. The issue is always going to be whether the rest of the drive train can hold up to that sort of output.

Or if the suspension can handle the driver load....:)
