We’re bankrupting the country for the children. So the little darlings can go to school and have ponies for Christmas.

You can see what Boris is imagining. The Daily Mail headline will be “Boris Saves Xmas” - “There’s a new fat man in town and he’s saved our turkey, The Mail is starting a petition to scrap the Queen’s Speech and replace it with Clap For Boris.”

To the OP; I’m not worried, I’m appalled at the insistence of treating Covid like it’s the end of the world. This country is going to he!l in a handcart and it’s being steered by the fools in charge. When are they going to realise you can’t beat this? It’s a virus and it will keep coming back like seasonal flu or the common cold. The only way to beat it is to live with it and treat it as a fact of life. This coming lockdown will do two-tenths the square root of fuckall in reducing the death toll, all it will do is drag it out over a longer period. Barking, f*cking, mad.

As I read it, Furlong was due to stop yesterday but is now extended for all who meet the criteria north or south.

Apparently they are queued up down the road for Tesco locally today. No toilet rolls, milk, meat isle ravaged. They are ten deep at the entrance. People are panicking and buying it all up. Fights broke out for trolleys.
Stay safe out there people.

I planned a DIY motorhome based on a Leyland Atlantean coach, went to Bolton Bus depot and spoke to the chaps - 6 mpg, put me off.....

Wasn't the original idea of a lockdown to flatten the curve and lessen the stress on hospitals and health care? With 7 month's knowledge and experience on treatment, why are we still locking down? At the carshow I attended last week, 90+% of the people there wore masks, everyone stayed 2m apart. Over here, life has returned to nearly normal with a few modifications, we are tired of being held hostage to a virus or the whims of politicians. Protect the vulnerable, use common sense, and move on.

The mother of my kids is a nurse at Southmead Hospital in Bristol and they are well under pressure and lockdown not until Thursday I think this is all going to get messy for sure :(
